Really just my , Iraq is going through the process of the removing Sanctions in my opinion, not an easy, right away task. Look for agreements FORMING now behindthe scenes while they handle corruption and rebuild, get the people back, and connect and learn to be connected with the world.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi received in Baghdad yesterday a high-level delegation headed by Kurdistan Regional Government President Nigervan Barzani to discuss ways to resolve the outstanding crisis between Baghdad and Erbil. The Kurdish delegation included Vice President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, and the President of the Office of the Presidency of the Territory Fouad Hussein. A statement issued by the Presidency of the Iraqi government, that the parties discussed the latest political and security situation, and resolve the problems between the federal government and the region according to the Constitution. Abadi stressed during the meeting, the unity and sovereignty of Iraq, and that the citizens of the region part of the Iraqi people, and the importance of the re-activation of all federal authorities in the region, including border crossings and airports.

On the other hand, the Iraqi parliament failed yesterday to agree on May 12 as the date for the elections, under the government's proposal, where Sunni and Kurdish lawmakers called for a postponement to allow hundreds of thousands of people displaced by the war to return home. State television said parliament speaker Salim al-Jubouri expressed hope after yesterday's meeting in Baghdad that the parliament could vote on a date for elections by tomorrow.

At the meeting, Abadi renewed his conditions for lifting restrictions imposed on the Kurdistan region after the referendum, including a direct international air travel ban. He said the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) airports and border crossings have to come under the control of the federal authorities, according to a statement from his office. Abadi also demanded that the Kurds stop exporting crude oil from the KRG independently from the central government. “Kurdistan delegation headed by @PMBarzani is in Baghdad now, met with @HaiderAlAbadi,” Hemin Hawrami, a senior official of Barzani’s Kurdistan Democratic Party said on Twitter. “Later today the delegation will fly to Tehran for official meetings with senior Iranian officials Sunday,” added Hawrami, who is also an assistant of ex-KRG president Massoud Barzani. Iraq’s central government said “an atmosphere of trust” marked talks held on Monday with the KRG to resolve their conflict, which saw armed clashes in October. Iranian President Hassan Rowhani stressed on Sunday that regional cooperation should be strengthened to counter the efforts of some forces to destabilize the region, pointing out that his country supports a united Iraq. TEHRAN, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said here Sunday that the Islamic republic backs a "united and integrated" Iraq, state TV reported.

"All the regional countries and ethnic groups are duty-bound to defend a federal administration (in Iraq) and help secure border demarcations in the region," said Rouhani at a Sunday meeting with Nechirvan Barzani, the prime minister of Iraq's Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

"Extra-regional powers and forces do not and will not feel any sympathy for people of the region," he said, adding that foreign powers' intervention aims to deal a blow to regional stability and security.

"Extra-regional powers and forces only think about achieving their own long-term goals," he said.

Barzani said Iraqi Kurds want a "unified Iraq," and all sides should remain committed to the Arab country's constitution and pursue their demands through legal channels.

In September 2017, Iraq's Kurdistan semi-autonomous region held an independence referendum; however, the central government rejected the results and adopted punitive measures against them.

The head of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani, said his visit to Baghdad, last Saturday, constitutes "the beginning of serious dialogues" between the region and the federal government on controversial issues.

Barzani said during a press conference held in Erbil that the government delegation discussed with Prime Minister Haider Abadi the need to resolve differences according to the constitution, pointing out that "the talk dealt with the formation of several committees on oil, border crossings and airports" . 
Barzani explained that the meeting of the Kurdish delegation last with Prime Minister Haider Abadi, came with the help of "friends of Baghdad and Erbil," who prepared for that meeting. 
Barzani had recently headed a Kurdish delegation visited Baghdad and then left to Tehran, and included both Qubad Talabani, Vice President of the Government of the Territory, and Fuad Hussein, head of the Office of the Presidency of the Kurdistan region. 
The visit ended a break between the two parties to the top of the government pyramid in the region and the center after the referendum in Kurdistan last September. 
Before the conference, the Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan region, a meeting dealt with the results of the visit of the Kurdish delegation led by Barzani to Baghdad and the Iranian capital Tehran.
Until recently, Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi, required the resumption of dialogue with Erbil, to cancel the results of the referendum and the delivery to the Constitution in the sovereignty of Iraqi territory. 
Barzani stressed during the press conference that "we must work together to reach a final solution to the problems," stressing that "we are taking positive steps in the right path to resolve the differences with Baghdad." 
"He will meet with Prime Minister Haider Abadi at the Davos Forum, which will be held in the coming days."

The commander of the Makhmour-Kuyir axis of the Peshmerga forces in Iraq, Sirwan Barzani, announced that his forces are on standby and are waiting for a leadership agreement between Erbil and Baghdad.

Barzani stressed that the agreement with the federal government is fragile and there are no guarantees from the government and the crowd.

Pointing out that the former head of the Kurdistan region Massoud Barzani is no longer the general commander of the Peshmerga forces and Prime Minister Haider Abadi is the one who now has the authority of the commander-in-chief.
