Discovery of silicon and quartz in the oil field of Badra

 

 

 

"The geological teams have been able to detect quartz and silicon metal within the territory of the Badra oilfield, " the governor of the Wasit Governorate Council, Ghassanfar al-Batikh, said in a statement . 

"Silicon metal is one of the basic chemical elements and enters the composition of transistors for the manufacture of metal chips in the computer industry, while quartz metal enters the manufacture of sensitive devices designed to measure time accurately ."

 

Wasit province includes two oil fields, the first is Ahdab, which was discovered in 1979 and a reserve of 225 million barrels of oil, and the second field is Badra, which began pumping commercial in 2014 and reached production of 77 thousand barrels per day, was transmitted in 2009 for investment by the coalition Kazprom with Turkey's TBO and Malaysia's Petronas

Silicon   14  SI   Is a metalloid...  Quartz is made of silicon and oxygen  SIO2.   

Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in the Earths crust.  

Those quartz veins are what we look for when lode mining for GOLD!!!

Everything this guy in the Photo is doing is wrong ( I used to work in the Oil Patch of N. Dakota - ya see these things straight off ).

 

Also, he has NO proper Oilfield Personal Protection Gear on. . . and funny enough, it looks as if he's blowing Flame out his Backside. Bad Photo OP - sends the wrong message.
