Budget on the agenda of the parliament tomorrow

 

 

 

The parliamentary finance committee announced on Sunday the approval of the Presidency of the House of Representatives on the inclusion of the budget law in a session on Monday . 

Majida al-Tamimi, a member of the committee, said that "she collected more than 50 signatures to include the budget law in the agenda of the session on Monday .

Tamimi added that "the Presidency of the House of Representatives agreed to include the budget in tomorrow's session.

The Kurdish blocs in the House of Representatives confirmed, last Wednesday, that it will not participate in any meeting of parliament, including discussion of the budget or vote on it, indicating that it does not meet the aspirations of the Kurdish people .

 

The parliament's presidency decided on Saturday to resume the tenth session of the parliament within the last legislative term on Monday .

The parliamentary legal committee expected on Sunday to repeat the scenario of breaking the quorum by tomorrow's session and future meetings unless a final agreement is reached with the opposing blocs, excluding the inclusion of the budget on the agenda.

"The Kurds announced their position not to be satisfied with what was presented by the Prime Minister on the budget at the meeting, which gathered last Thursday."

He added that "the Union of forces is still silent after meeting Abadi and hear his response about their demands on the budget," adding that "tomorrow's session may be free of the budget for the second reading after the differences."

He explained that "is expected to repeat the scenario of breaking the quorum and the exit of members of the session during the coming sessions unless the resolution of objections and differences on the budget," pointing out that "the National Alliance is unable to complete the quorum and hold a meeting to move the budget."

Basra MPs to boycott state budget vote

 

 

Basra MPs have announced that they will boycott the vote on the state budget if doesn't include the governorate's fair share.

In a press statement, MP Tawfik al-Ka'abi said that Basra MPs have agreed to boycott the vote if the Federal Government continues to ignore delivering the governorate's shares of the petrodollar.

He added that other oil-rich governorates' MPs have made similar agreements, as their governorates are also suffering a massive deterioration in services.

Ka'abi further stated that these governorates suffer problems with water, infrastructure, widespread of cancer diseases among their resident, urging the Iraqi government to deliver Basra's petrodollar payments and give it proper share from the state budget.

Basra MPs have announced that they will boycott the vote on the state budget if doesn't include the governorate's fair share.

Is scheduled to be the House of Representatives on Monday, the second reading of the draft financial budget for the year 2018, without the participation of the Kurdish blocs. 

MP Abdelkader Mohammed, a member of the parliamentary committee said in a press statement that it is likely to hold a second reading of the budget bill in the House of Representatives on Monday, stressing that the Kurdish blocs will not participate in the meeting. 

The Kurdish blocs had boycotted the session of the House of Representatives attended by Prime Minister Haider Abadi on the financial budget for 2018, as did not reach the heads of the Kurdish blocs to any agreement during a meeting with Abadi on the increase of the share of Kurdistan in the budget. 

MP Abdul Qader Mohammed, a member of the Kurdistan National Union bloc, said the Kurdish deputies in the parliamentary finance committee expressed their readiness to form a joint committee with the Ministry of Finance on the share of the Kurdistan Region, stressing that the committee was not formed and that the Kurdish deputies in the Finance Committee have not received any willingness from the federal government on the Joint Committee .

too feel that it's just a matter of short time that those responsible for the lack of financial and political progress will no longer be able to continue to get away by complaining about the 7% of land disputes (or thereabout) holding up article 140 and/or the difference between the 12% or 17% of profit sharing (which to the best of my knowledge was agreed upon years ago) in the hydro carbon act. 

 

I missed a few weeks of DV recently due to a medical necessity, which is coming along well with each passing day, which is the same perspective I have in regards to the work that's going on in Iraq. There is continuous effort -that's publicized- in regards to the rebuilding of Iraq and the elevation of its economy to a free and capitalist society. I am sure that there are a lot of 'conversations' taking place behind the scenes letting those corrupt holdouts know that their days are numbered and that the under-valued IQD is soon going to be a thing of the past.

(Baghdad: Al Furat News) postponed the presidency of parliament to hold the meeting half an hour to debate on the second amendment to the electoral law.

A source told the {Euphrates News} that "the parliamentary session today witnessed a heated debate between the deputies on the amendment of the election law, especially the paragraphs on the academic certificate of candidates and allow junior high school graduates to run as well as dual nationality."
