Rouhani: The enemy has openly said that it will transfer the battle to Iran

Follow up of Mawazine News

Iranian President Hassan Rowhani during a meeting with the heads of specialized committees in parliament, the importance of events in the country and stressed that Iran will exceed this stage.

"These events are of no importance and the Iranian people have witnessed many of them and easily overcome them," Rowhani said in a speech on the protests.

He continued: "The issue is now affecting the regime and the revolution and national interests and national security and stability of Iran and the region," noting that all demonstrators are not supported from abroad.

He called on Rouhani to turn what happened during the last days in Iran to an opportunity to solve the problems.

"The enemy is angry at the greatness of the Iranian people and the success and development of Iran." Criticism and protest is an opportunity, not a threat, and the people themselves will respond to the lawbreakers and rioters.

Rohani accused the United States and Israel of inciting some demonstrators to retaliate against Iran, saying that "the enemy has explicitly said that he will transfer the battle into Iran."

He expressed his belief that the United States suffered a major defeat on the nuclear agreement to its allies in Europe.

He stressed that his country suffers from problems not related to the government such as drought, desertification, earthquakes and environmental pollution, stressing at the same time that the economic situation in Iran is better than the average economic conditions in the world, and the economic growth rate in the country this year 6%.

He said that Iran plays a positive role for peace in Syria, the stability of Iraq and Lebanon and the defense of the oppressed.

He added that citizens have the right to protest but must be by legal means, calling at the same time to national unity between parliament, government, the judiciary and the armed forces.

Ten people killed in Iran unrest on Sunday: state television

DUBAI (Reuters) - Ten people were killed during street protests in Iran on Sunday, state television said on Monday.

The nationwide protests have drawn in tens of thousands of people and represent the boldest challenge to Iran’s leadership since pro-reform unrest in 2009. Calls for more demonstrations on Monday raise the possibility of prolonged instability.

“In the events of last night, unfortunately, a total of about 10 people were killed in several cities,” state television said while showing footage of damage from the demonstrations. It gave no further details of the deaths.

Unsigned statements posted on social media urged Iranians to demonstrate again in the capital Tehran and 50 other urban centers.

Iran is a major OPEC oil producer and regional power but frustrations have grown at home while the country is deeply involved in Syria and Iraq as part of a battle for influence with rival Saudi Arabia.

Those foreign interventions are also fueling anger in the Islamic Republic because Iranians want their leaders to create jobs instead of engaging in costly proxy wars.

The unrest erupted in the second city of Mashhad against price rises but it swiftly spread and turned into political rallies.

Some called on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to step down and chanted against a government they described as thieves.

Demonstrators say they are angry over corruption and economic hardship in a country where youth unemployment reached 28.8 percent last year.

Protests continued overnight even though President Hassan Rouhani appealed for calm. In remarks carried on state TV, he said Iranians had the right to criticize authorities but also warned of a crackdown.

“The government will show no tolerance for those who damage public properties, violate public order and create unrest in the society,” Rouhani said. Hundreds of people have been arrested but security forces have largely shown restraint.

Iran’s leaders believe they can count on support from many of the generation that took part in the 1979 revolution because of their ideological commitment and the economic gains they have made under the government, analysts say.

Two people were shot dead in the southwestern town of Izeh on Sunday and several others were injured, ILNA news agency quoted a member of parliament as saying. It was not clear if the two dead were part of the 10 cited on state television.

“I do not know whether yesterday’s shooting was done by rally participants or the police and this issue is being investigated,” Hedayatollah Khademi was quoted as saying.

Regional governor Mostafa Samali told the semi-official news agency Fars that just one person had been killed and that the incident was unrelated to the protests and the alleged shooter had been arrested.

Police in the center of Tehran fired water cannon on Sunday to try to disperse demonstrators, according to pictures on social media.

Demonstrations turned violent in Shahin Shahr in central Iran. Videos showed protesters attacking the police, turning over a car and setting it on fire. Reuters could not immediately verify the authenticity of the footage.

There were also reports of demonstrations in the western cities of Sanandaj and Kermanshah as well as Chabahar in the southeast and Ilam and Izeh in the southwest.

The protests were the biggest since unrest in 2009 that followed the disputed re-election of then-President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Videos showed people in central Tehran chanting: “Down with the dictator!” in an apparent reference to Khamenei.

I first had Iranian friends 30 years ago, from elite families in Tehran. My friend Mohammed was from a rich family, who supported American style political freedoms. The gov't killed most of his family and he escaped to the West, where I met him. He was one of the nicest and smartest guys I ever met. He gave me books to read on Iran and told me that eventually political change would come in a few decades, and he told me there were lots and lots of pro-American Iranians and that most Iranians loved America and admired us. He said there were also religious people, often older, who hated our guts, but they would die off in a few decades, and if America just avoided war with Iran, younger people would take over, young people who liked America, and we could become best friends, in time....Guess what? My friend Mohammed was right. We are starting to see that, right now. If you have the luck of meeting any Iranian people in your life, embrace them as friends. They are very fine people. This will turn out very, very well for America, now that we have extremely capable and competent leadership in the White House, under President Trump. God bless the Persians. God bless President Trump.

Russian Orientalist policy analyzes Iran's protests and links them to Iraq and predicts its consequences

A Russian orientalist analyzes Iran's protests and links them to Iraq and predicts its consequences

 Twilight News

The turmoil that swept through Iran in late December could lead to regime change in Iran, the chief scientist at the Institute of Orientalism of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Sajman has ruled out.
The researcher said in an interview with Novosti that it is unlikely that the protests in Iran will lead to a revolution in the Islamic Republic, but it will cause serious internal political consequences because it shows that the population is dissatisfied with the foreign policy of the Tehran authorities and tired of the religious restrictions imposed on them.
The orientalist noted that the current unrest, the largest protest in Iran since the demonstrations in 2009, began to resent the economic situation, but quickly turned to express dissatisfaction with the policy of the current authorities.
He pointed out that the current government, headed by Hassan Rowhani, carried out many procedures and achieved results in the economic field, including the nuclear file. However, Iranian activities in Iraq, Syria and Yemen have high financial costs, which hampered the government from implementing all its economic plans, causing discontent among the population.
The Russian expert stressed that the educated section of the population is not satisfied with the restrictions imposed by the Islamic elements in the regime in Iran.
"Most urban residents are cultured, use the Internet effectively, know English and young Iranians (who make up 70 percent of the population) want to live" naturally "and listen to music, and the young man walks with the girl holding his hand in the street without fear. "The intellectuals, on the other hand, realize that their country is spending huge sums to support Hezbollah, the war in Syria, the situation in Iraq and Yemen, which caused food prices to rise and the unrest started.
According to the expert, the clash occurred in Iran between two political groups - the first liberal reformists, led by President Hassan Rowhani, and the second conservatives seeking to maintain the strong Islamic character, imposed by the founder of the Islamic Republic Ayatollah Khomeini.
"This conflict between the two groups is continuing, but I do not think that the situation in Iran at the end of December will change the regime there, of course many cities are witnessing demonstrations and protest rallies, but they have not gathered many citizens. But the conservatives might say: The government of reformists is shaky and it is necessary to tighten the screws on domestic politics. "
"In the internal political conflict, these disturbances seem to be beneficial to both sides and I do not think that a new revolution will happen in Iran and overthrow the Islamic regime," he said.

Oil posts strongest year opening since 2014 as Iran unrest pushes up crude

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Oil prices posted their strongest opening to a year since 2014 on Tuesday, with crude rising to mid-2015 highs amid large anti-government rallies in Iran and ongoing supply cuts led by OPEC and Russia.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures CLc1 were at $60.63 a barrel at 0747 GMT, up 21 cents, or 0.4 percent, after hitting $60.74 earlier in the day, the highest since June 2015.

Brent crude futures LCOc1, the international benchmark, were at $67.18 a barrel, up 31 cents, or 0.5 percent, after hitting a May 2015 high of $67.29 a barrel earlier in the day.

It was the first time since January 2014 that the two crude oil benchmarks opened the year above $60 per barrel.

“Growing unrest in Iran set the table for a bullish start to 2018,” the U.S.-based Schork Report said in a note to clients on Tuesday.

Anti-government protesters demonstrated in Iran on Sunday in defiance of a warning by authorities of a crackdown, extending for a fourth day one of the most audacious challenges to the clerical leadership since pro-reform unrest in 2009.

Even without the unrest in Iran, which is a major oil exporter, market sentiment was bullish.

“Falling inventories globally and strong economic growth offset the restart of the Forties pipeline and the resumption of production following a pipeline outage in Libya,” said Jeffrey Halley, senior market analyst at futures brokerage Oanda in Singapore.

The 450,000 barrels per day (bpd) capacity Forties pipeline system in the North Sea returned to full operations on Dec. 30 after an unplanned shutdown.

Oil markets have been supported by a year of production cuts led by the Middle East-dominated Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and Russia. The cuts started in January 2017 and are scheduled to cover all of 2018.

U.S. commercial crude oil inventories have fallen by almost 20 percent from their historic highs last March, to 431.9 million barrels.

Strong demand growth, especially from China, has also been supporting crude.

Only rising U.S. production, which is on the verge of breaking through 10 million bpd, is somewhat hampering the outlook into 2018.

We think U.S. tight oil production growth warrants close monitoring as it could spoil OPEC’s market-balancing efforts, pushing the market into surplus in 2018,” Barclays bank said on Tuesday.

U.S. oil production C-OUT-T-EIA, driven largely by onshore tight shale oil fields, has risen by almost 16 percent since mid-2016, to 9.75 million bpd at the end of last year.

Consultancy Rystad Energy said “U.S. crude oil production capacity has reached 10 million barrels per day.”

No doubt the Iranian protesters will be slaughtered by the truckload. Nothing quite says population crowd control like the meat grinder of the constant hail of gunfire.

Perhaps however bloody, the regime change to a more free, open & democratic govt. so many are hoping for will come pass.

President Trump and his strategy in Iran

Abdul Jabbar al-Jubouri

In response to the appeal of President Trump, French President MacRaeon or Merkel, the Iranian revolution did not start in response to the Iranian people's conscience, which was fed up with the policies and interventions of the Iranian leader and the inciting of terrorism in the region. The people were starving, blockaded and deprived as a result of this aggressive policy towards the Arab countries, one of whose main objectives was to export the revolution and establish the Persian Empire. Within the framework of the Persian expansionist global religious project, the revolution started at the beginning to protest the increase in oil prices.Which was launched by the Supreme Leader in the Iranian city of Mashhad, and expanded to the point of arrival in the city of Mashhad. Tehran, and fell as a result of the repression of demonstrators by the bullets of the Revolutionary Guard and the police, more than thirty martyrs, and the demonstrations continue to permeate all Iranian cities, and escalating demonstrations and rising demands of the ceiling, the revolution was spontaneous at the beginning, unorganized and no one to lead, "The revolution must be supported and the time for change in Iran has come to an end," or "The brutal power of the Tehran regime against the demonstrators must stop," President Trump said. ), And the son of the Shah Reza Pahlavi, a large demonstration in New York in support of the revolution in the same way removed his father from power, directed his appeal to all parties, movements and nationalities, including the Iranian People's Mujahedin Organization to unite and cohesion and coordination and forget the past and left intellectual and political differences aside to face the regime Iran's elected president, Maryam Rajavi, appeared in a speech addressed to the revolution calling on the Iranian people to continue until the regime was toppled, and the PMOI began to enter Iran and start military action inside Iran in solidarity and support of the revolution. Since the beginning of the revolution, the city has been close to the rest of the cities, a phone against the guide and the rule of the mullahs, and the occupation of military circles and sites and the burning of the religious headquarters of the supreme leader. Thus, all the pioneers of the opposition joined their different ideological, national and religious orientations, The government condemned the use of force and the killing of demonstrators by the Iranian police, and warned of the intervention of the Revolutionary Guard, at the time The Iranian army has declared its support for the people, not allowing the Revolutionary Guards to suppress the people, and splits on more than one side and a personality and leadership within Iran. The revolution continues unabated despite the announcement of its suppression and sedition. The leaders of Tehran, President Trump and the statements that followed the outbreak Revolution b "We must intervene in time," he said. "We must intervene in time," he said. This strategy, despite the pessimism of some, and the lack of confidence in President Trump and his administration, Tramb put Iran in the second goal after the elimination of the organization is urging in Iraq and Syria, and (the time for change in Iran), and this confirms that the International Alliance, Together with the White House to implement the Trump strategy, Mando was (In a speech to the Assembly from Western and Arab countries, called for an international coalition to bring down the regime of Iran), Saad Hariri's crisis and coordination with Saudi Arabia to establish an international and Arab coalition to overthrow the regime of Tehran. It is clear and direct in this context, when he said (that Saudi Arabia does not wait for the Iranian army to enter Saudi Arabia and the battle within Tehran must be transformed), this American-Saudi-American-American harmony and discipline (which will lead the war against Iran, Britain and Germany) The Islamic military It knows that the whole world is fed up with the policy of the aggressive rulers of Tehran and its direct patronage of international terrorism and extremist organizations, foremost of which is the organization of advocacy and support, to destabilize the security and stability of the world. The region, and the terrorist infiltration of Iran's arms in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen, is evidence of Iran's future danger and its quest for hegemony and control of the Middle East to establish its Persian empire. The White House's statements were clear, to support the revolution at a later stage by all means, putting President Trump all the logistical capabilities in the service of the revolution, and warning the regime of To intervene militarily, if the suppression of the revolution by force and the use of violence and killing against demonstrators, certainly and despite the pessimism of some of Trump's evasion and non-fulfillment of his promises, and his remarks air in the network and the marketing of media and intimidation of others only, which is not serious in the face of Tehran and topple its regime, The reality on the ground confirms the exact opposite. It does not want President Bush's historical mistake to send the US military to war outside the United States. He is working slowly and forcefully to confront the Tehran regime by mobilizing European countries. He has succeeded in mobilizing the Arab countries for funding and military support. "This is President Trump's policy, and this is his strategy towards Iran, which he announced a year ago, saying that the year 2017 is the year to eliminate a callouser and endlessly call for ever. Today, Working to mobilize the whole world for his leadership, Against Iran and confront Iran media and military, has succeeded so far in convincing everyone, the need to get rid of the mullahs system, which proved the facts and criminal acts and military interventions of Iran and its militias in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Lebanon, it destabilizes the security and stability of the world, and this is a very important part of the strategy of the President Trump against Iran, we also say the revolution at its beginning and will not stop until the overthrow of the regime, even with the military power that looms, President Trump and his allies in the whole world ....

Security Council to hold an emergency meeting on Iran

Security Council holds emergency meeting on Iran

Twilight News

The United Nations Security Council has responded to the request of the United States of America for an emergency session to discuss developments in the current situation in Iran.

This was stated in an e-mail sent to reporters by the Office of the President of the Council, Ambassador Kiraat Umarov, representative of Kazakhstan to the United Nations, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the Security Council for the month of January.

In the letter, the Bureau announced the convening of the emergency meeting on the Middle East, at the request of the United States, on Friday afternoon.

The United Nations diplomats said Thursday that Washington formally asked the President of the Council to convene an emergency session to discuss the current situation in Iran.

Since December 28, Iran has been witnessing demonstrations in the cities of Mashhad and Kashmer (northeast) to protest against the high cost of living, before turning later into demonstrations that espouse political slogans.

Demonstrations later spread to dozens of cities, including the capital Tehran and the religious capital of Qom, leaving at least 24 dead and scores injured, while security forces arrested more than 1,000 protesters.

This will help convince Iraqis that Americans should leave some soldiers behind, in a new Status of Forces Agreement. This is good for America, good for ordinary Iraqis, and bad for radical Muslims, in Tehran. We need to avoid war with Iran, and just let these fools destroy themselves.
