The Central Bank of Iraq decided to stop the completion of the procedures of banks under incorporation, the number of 21 banks, and the choice to merge every seven banks combined to form a single bank is not Islamic.

The Central Bank said in a statement that it was also decided not to consider applications for the establishment of new Islamic banks.

The Central Bank said that the applications of Islamic banks will be submitted to the initial approval and completed all procedures, and deposited the full amount of capital required within the specified period to the committee formed to provide an opinion on them.

The Central Bank decided at its meeting on December 7 to form a working group to study the conversion of all financial transfer companies that submitted requests to switch to banks, which has not yet submitted applications to one bank or two banks or converted to exchange companies.

And the Central Bank of Iraq 's sales of foreign currency during the auction on Monday to 141.03 million dollars , for the sale of 138.51 million dollars auction on Sunday.
