I hope all restrictions pertaining to foreign exchange will be the first to go.

We know they are very serious to make this new relationship works.

Despite residing in a vast oil producing country, abt 20% Iraqis live under poverty line, 500 thousand Iraqis enter the job market every year and eventho oil production keeps increasing, oil industry only provides a very very small no. of job opportunities. The people of iraq needed this bad.

Abadi needed this to bridge sunni-shiite divide to form a united Arab front that can address whatever issues they have with the Kurds.

And as far as Saudi is concerns, they have set up a $2 trillion wealth management fund under their Vision 2030 to diversify their economies and reduce their dependence on oil. This is surely a BIG start with all the reconstructions coming up....

And then....there are fears by almost everyone else of Iranian influence on Iraq...and of Iraq feeling being marginalized by other Arab nations.

So it is not just in the interest of Iraq and Saudi to make this things work....but the world is watching too.

And whatever obstacles they are removing, could be a benchmark for all others.
