said the Foreign Ministry , Thursday, for the adoption of a UN draft resolution submitted by Iraq to preserve the environment from the effects of terrorist attacks. 

"The United Nations General Assembly adopted the draft resolution submitted by Iraq to protect the environment from the effects of terrorist operations during the meeting held at the UN headquarters in Nairobi, " the Foreign Ministry said in a statement received by Alsumaria News .

 

 


"The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq to Nairobi has made a vigorous effort over four months to convince the member states of the importance of the draft resolution to protect the environment from the terrorist acts committed by gangs in Iraq and a number of countries in the world," the ministry said. 

"The project received the attention of the delegations participating in the third meeting of the General Assembly of the Environment, as it aims to reduce pollution and control in areas affected by armed conflict or terrorism."
