Mubasher : A member of the Finance Committee of the Iraqi parliament that the dues of farmers in the Iraqi government from 2014 amounted to 736 billion dinars (615.12 million).

MP Massoud Haidar said Friday that the farmers of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq have been suffering since 3 years of non-payment of their financial dues on the supply of wheat crop.

Haidar said that the Finance Committee of the Iraqi parliament sent an official letter to the Prime Minister, Haider Abadi, to ask the Council to approve the release of the rest of the dues of farmers in Iraq in general and the Kurdistan region, especially from the amounts available before the end of the current fiscal year, according to (Iraqi News Agency).

A member of the parliamentary committee, that the dues of farmers by the Iraqi government between 2014 and 2016 amounted to 689 billion dinars (575.86 million dollars), in addition to 47 billion dinars (39.28 million dollars) the value of their dues with the government for the year 2017.

Haidar pointed out that the Ministry of Finance during the past period disbursed a payment of dues of farmers in the whole of Iraq amounted to 829 billion dinars, did not exceed the share of the farmers of Kurdistan 70 billion dinars only.

He said that the total receivables of farmers in the Kurdistan region amounted to 666 billion dinars, adding that there are 829 billion dinars currently available to the Ministry of Finance within the allocations of farmers.

He called on the MP, the Prime Minister of Iraq, to instruct the Ministry of Finance and his government, to release this amount and distribution to farmers, including farmers in the region; to maintain the level of production and support farmers in preparation for the next agricultural season.

This's the part where I can justify not installing a true value for the dinar, for this time period...Pay the debt to the farmers at the current rate...then allow those dinar to increase in value...(which would depend on the rate)...giving the farmers the advantages of the RV'ing of their currency...These are the 'true victims' of the travesty that a 'mad-man' a quarter of a century ago imposed upon their already dictated lives...The Iraqi farmers have witnessed the blunt of the  terrorist /tyranny that has plagued their country, they've paid their dues for a prosperous future...The reality of it is...these farmers that would receive the prosperity of a RV...the majority of these farmers will reinvest into their farms and the economy....jmho
