Vice President Osamah Nujaifi announced his support for the arrival of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on a new period if he fulfills certain conditions, including limiting the arms to the authority of the state and the balance of foreign relations.

"This is very likely," Nujaifi told Reuters in an interview with Mawazine News when asked whether he would support Abadi. "But this has not been done so far. We need negotiations before that, but his policies are the closest to us. The subject of the upcoming elections. "

He added that "Abadi should resolve his situation in view of his affiliation with the Dawa Party," explaining that "it must come out of this umbrella to the national umbrella and can get great support from the Iraqi people."

"We support it, but not without conditions. There must be a political agreement based on the common interests of the Iraqis, the withdrawal from political sectarianism, the control of arms and balanced international relations, and we have a complete approach if we agree on it," Nujaifi said.

"It is unreasonable to hold elections under a weapon that is so widespread, or with millions of people displaced from their homes or their inability to return. This will distort the elections," he said.

Nujaifi pointed out that "Mosul will need $ 30 billion to rebuild the city and its infrastructure."

"Estimates indicate that nearly 70 percent of the city has been destroyed or severely damaged, infrastructure, means of life, water, energy and hospitals are all destroyed."
