Parliament holds its meeting to resolve the file of the Electoral Commission

The House of Representatives, on Monday, its regular selection of members of the Electoral Commission for elections, and presented the report of the Legal Committee on the referendum of the Kurdistan region.

"The Parliament will hold its 28th meeting to complete the vote on the draft amendment of the Third Law of Governorates not organized in the region No. (21) for the year 2008 (the Legal Committee, the Committee of Regions and Governorates not organized in the region) (Remaining 11 articles), and vote in principle on the proposed law to amend the law of elections of the House of Representatives No. (45) for the year 2013 (the Legal Committee).

The statement added that "the meeting will vote in principle on the proposed amendment of the Personal Status Law No. 188 of 1959 (the Legal Committee, the Committee on Endowment and Religious Affairs, the Committee on Women, Family and Childhood) and vote on the draft law of ratification of the Convention on the encouragement and mutual protection of investments between Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Committee on Foreign Relations, Committee on Economy and Investment) (2M) ".

The committee said in a statement that "the meeting will be a vote on the draft law amending the law of the Association of Accountants and Auditors (Committee of Civil Society Organizations, the Finance Committee, the Legal Committee) (12 articles), as well as the vote on the draft amendment of the second law of the Central Bank of Iraq issued Decree No. (56) of 2004 on the Coalition Provisional Authority (dissolved) (Finance Committee, Committee on Economy and Investment) (10 articles) ".

"The session will also include a vote on the proposed law of the Media and Communications Authority (the Committee on Culture and Information, the Legal Committee, the Financial Committee, the Services and Reconstruction Committee) (55 articles), indicating that" the report of the Legal Committee regarding the (referendum) Committee of Expatriates, Displaced Persons and Expatriates on the Return of Displaced Persons to Their Areas. "

The House of Representatives held on Monday, its usual 28 headed by Salim Jubouriand the presence of 175 deputies, while the session includes voting in principle on the proposed law to amend the law of parliamentary elections. 

A parliamentary source said in an interview for Alsumaria News, "The Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri held its 28th parliament of the current legislative term in the presence of 175 deputies," noting that "the agenda of the meeting includes the report of the work of the Committee of Experts to select members of the Electoral Commission for elections, draft amendment Act III of the Law of governorates not organized in a region No. (21) for the year 2008 ".

 

 

The source, who asked not to be named, said that "the meeting also includes voting in principle on the proposed law to amend the law of the elections of the Council of Representatives No. (45) for the year 2013, and vote in principle on the proposed law amending the Personal Status Law No. (188) for the year 1959 "He said. 


The source added that "the meeting also includes voting on the draft law on ratification of the Convention on the encouragement and mutual protection of investments between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and vote on the draft law amending the law of the Association of Accountants and Auditors, and vote on the draft amendment of the second law of the Central Bank of Iraq issued by Order No. (56) for the year 2004 on the Coalition Provisional Authority (dissolved) ".

"The agenda also included voting on the draft law of the media and communications authority, the report of the legal committee regarding the (referendum) of the Kurdistan region, in addition to the report of the committee of deportees, displaced persons and expatriates on the return of displaced persons to their areas," the source said. 

The House of Representatives raised its normal session Saturday (October 21, 2017) to Monday, while voted on a resolution that includes the Supreme Judicial Council judges in the polling stations to supervise the vote, counting and sorting to ensure the conduct of the electoral process.
