Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al-Abadi announces an Iraqi vision for the future of the region based on development and security instead of differences and wars
=============

Iraq throughout its difficult and successful experience in overcoming the threat of terrorism and division in which it did rose victorious, strong, united as a State, people
Iraq saw, from the sense of responsibility that, the countries and peoples of the region have many challenges and common goals, the need to put forward comprehensive initiative dimensions of development, basically economically, which that reshape the political relationship between our countries and peoples.

On peaceful foundations and lasting basis according to the following principles:

First, the conflicts in the region have not only brought our peoples destruction and backwardness, it had caused a massive drain on human and natural potential and the loss of opportunities for development and progress.
To extinguish these destructive conflicts and bloodshed and to stop interventionist policies to fuel conflicts is the right rule and the only alternative to a new era of cooperation and building.

It is wrong for the countries of the region to consider their interests in isolation from the interests of others. Our vision is to work together to build our interests and economies in an integrative manner without being isolated from one another.

So, the economy, development, and prosperity can't be achieved in one country without another. Without all of the above, all development and stability projects will falter.

Our band efforts must be companies to each other as an added sum to all of us.

Secondly, we are seeking to establish lasting, deep and well-established relations among our peoples, and not to restrict them to the relationship between governments because the relationship between peoples ensures the stability of relations in the face of political transformations.

Thirdly, we must give a great glimmer of hope to the youth and not to be left to terrorism and deviant thought an intruder who exploits their energies in a negative direction and moves them from the moat of construction to the trench of murder and destruction.

Giving hope instead of despair through programs that provide employment opportunities to young people through rehabilitation and productive projects would give tremendous strength and momentum to the reform of societies.

Fourth: The agreement on a comprehensive development program and the optimal use of energies is the right alternative under fair policies based on citizenship and equality of rights and duties without discrimination. In addition to development projects at the national level, it is necessary to work and coordinate the advancement of the region as a whole, where security, peace, and well-being can't be achieved if the gap between rich and poor peoples remains large.

Fifth: The preoccupation of the region countries in conflicts among themselves while they don't invest in their resources in an optimal manner marginalized their role locally and globally.

We believe that we must work seriously for the countries of our region to have a voice and influence in decision-making at all levels of the world and in order to make the world safer and just.

Please be soon. I just lost an opportunity at an amazing house because of Obama Era policies concerning self employed individuals. It was a sweet one too. Had all the paperwork for approval signed and was told the house payments and everything then they pulled the rug out from under me the next day saying it looks bad on paper and they couldn'the give me the loan even though they know in reality I could afford it. Such a punch in the gut. We need an RV because I want to live in a nice house in a nice safe area instead of an area where shootings and crime is common. Please please please Iraq RV soon! :crossedfingers:

10-21-2017   Newshound Guru G-Lin   Article:   "Saudi diplomat: The next stage will witness huge work with Iraq"

Quote:  "The Saudi Royal Airplane arrived yesterday evening in Baghdad with a large Saudi delegation,

the largest after a 27-year break between the two countries,

to participate more actively in the Baghdad International Fair in its 44th session, which begins on Saturday."

This is really a big deal. It shows how much more progressive Abadi is versus Maliki.

Saudi is about 85-95% Sunni. Maliki hates Saudi.

It wouldn't surprise me to see an invitation to the GCC extended to Iraq in the near future.

Professor Ali Mohsen Al-Alak, can be described in a special session as an important and unprecedented step in the history of the international organization"

"The governor's explanation played a major role in drawing a clear picture of the role of the central bank in maintaining the value of the Iraqi dinar against foreign currencies and maintaining a reserve of hard currency, estimated at 48 billion dollars..."

That is a very important art. IMO. First it tells us a true reserve amount.

And it is going to preserve the value of the national currency. ...

this is the first meeting of this kind in it's history. You think something is up?

Tillerson's aim to form Saudi-Iraqi axis against Iran

Tillerson's aim to form Saudi-Iraqi axis against Iran

As US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson visits the Middle East, he'll hope to achieve something that has eluded top American diplomats for a generation: sealing a new alliance between Saudi Arabia and Iraq that would shut the doors of the Arab world to neighboring Iran, according to Fox News.

While the United States strives to heal the rift between the Gulf Arab states and Qatar, and resolve civil wars in Yemen and Syria, Tillerson is the Trump administration's point man on an even more ambitious and perhaps even less likely geopolitical gambit.

US officials see a new axis that unites Riyadh and Baghdad as central to countering Iran's growing influence from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean Sea, particularly as the Iraqi government struggles to rebuild recently recaptured ISIS strongholds and confronts a newly assertive Kurdish independence movement.

History, religion and lots of politics stand in Tillerson's way. He arrived in Riyadh on Saturday and planned to visit Qatar on Monday.

The effort to wean Iraq from Iran and bond it to Saudi Arabia isn't new, but US officials are optimistically pointing to a surer footing they believe they've seen in recent months. They're hoping to push the improved relations into a more advanced phase Sunday when Tillerson participates in the inaugural meeting of the Saudi Arabia-Iraq Coordination Committee in Riyadh.

Tillerson will seek Saudi financial generosity and political support for Iraq, its embattled northern neighbor. Two US officials said Tillerson hopes the oil-rich Saudis will contribute to the massive reconstruction projects needed to restore pre-ISIS life in Iraqi cities such as Mosul and lend their backing to Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi. He is treading delicately among a host of powerful countries on Iraq's borders which are increasingly trying to shape the future of the ethnically and religiously divided nation.

The officials briefed reporters on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to publicly preview Tillerson's plans.

Shiite Iraq and Sunni-led Saudi Arabia, estranged for decades after Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait in 1990, have tried in recent years to bridge their differences.

Nevertheless, the relationship is still plagued by suspicion.

Saudi Arabia reopened its embassy in Baghdad in 2015 after a quarter-century, and earlier this year unblocked long-closed border crossings. But the emergence of arch-Saudi rival Iran as a power player in Iraq continues to gnaw at Riyadh and Washington.

Iran's reported intervention in Iraq's semi-autonomous northern Kurdish region, following last month's much criticized vote for independence in a referendum, has deepened the unease.

President Donald Trump wants to see "a stable Iraq, but a stable Iraq that is not aligned with Iran," H.R. McMaster, his national security adviser, said this past week. He suggested Saudi Arabia could play a pivotal role.

The US view is that the alternative may mean more conflict in Iraq, which endured years of insurgency after the US-led 2003 invasion and ethnic warfare when ISIS rampaged across the country in 2014.

"Iran is very good at pitting communities against each other," McMaster said Thursday at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. "This is something they share with groups like ISIS, with al-Qaeda. They pit communities against each other because they use tribal and ethnic and sectarian conflicts to gain influence by portraying themselves as a patron or protector of one of the parties in the conflict and then they use that invitation to come in and to help to advance their agenda and, in Iran's case, I think is a hegemonic design."

Shortly after taking office, Tillerson identified improving Saudi-Iraqi ties as a priority in the administration's broader policy to confront and contain Iran. Officials say he has devoted himself to the effort.
