Abadi in Riyadh marked a new phase between the two countries

22/10/2017 12:00 am

Arrived in the Saudi capital yesterday .. And meet Sisi and Sheikh Al-Azhar in Cairo today

Baghdad / Al-Sabah

Cairo / Esraa Khalifa

Prime Minister Dr. Haidar al-Abadi announced on Wednesday that the Iraqi project and vision for the future of the region based on development and the extension of security instead of differences and wars.
The prime minister arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday for a tour of several countries in the region.
This comes at a time when the Iraqi ambassador to Egypt Habib al-Sadr told "morning" that Dr. Abbadi will visit Cairo on Sunday.
Abadi said in his speech before his visit to Riyadh: "Iraq and its difficult and successful experience in overcoming the threat of terrorism and division and its rise victorious and strong and unified state and people, and believes in the sense of responsibility that the countries and peoples of the region have many challenges and common goals, and the need to put forward a comprehensive initiative with developmental and economic dimensions Mainly to re-formulate political relations between our nations and peoples on a sound and lasting basis. "
Dr. Abbadi outlined the project and the Iraqi vision according to the following bases:
First, the conflicts in the region have not only brought our peoples destruction and backwardness, they have caused a massive drain on human and natural potential and the loss of opportunities for development and progress.
To extinguish these destructive conflicts and bloodshed and to stop interventionist policies to fuel conflicts is the right rule and the only alternative to a new era of cooperation and building.
It is wrong for the countries of the region to consider their interests in isolation from the interests of others, and our vision is to work together to build our interests and economies in an integrative manner without being isolated from each other, as conditions have proved that security is indivisible, so is the economy, development and welfare can not be achieved in a state without Others, without getting up together, all development and stability projects will falter.
Our group of efforts must be added to each other as an added sum to all of us.
Second, we seek to establish lasting, deep and well-established relations among our peoples, and not to restrict them to the relationship between governments because the relationship between peoples ensures stability of relations in the face of political transformations.
Thirdly, we must give a great glimmer of hope to the youth, and not be left to the prey of terrorism and deviant thought and intruder who exploits their energies in a negative direction and moves them from the moat of construction to the trench of murder and destruction.
Giving hope instead of despair through programs that provide employment opportunities to young people through rehabilitation and productive projects gives tremendous strength and momentum to the reform of societies.
Fourth: The agreement on a comprehensive development program and the optimal use of energies is the right alternative under fair policies based on citizenship and equality of rights and duties without discrimination. In addition to development projects at the national level, it is necessary to work and coordinate the advancement of the region as a whole, where security, peace and well-being can not be achieved if the gap between rich and poor peoples remains large.
Fifthly: the preoccupation of the countries of the region to conflicts among themselves and not to invest their resources in an optimal manner marginalized their role locally and globally.
"We believe that we must work seriously for the countries of our region to have a voice and influence in decision-making at all international and local levels in order to make the world safer and more just." He
is scheduled to attend the first coordination meeting between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, With leaders of States.

The text of the speech of Prime Minister Haider Abadi, delivered during the meeting of the coordination meeting between Iraq and Saudi Arabia

In the name of of Allah the Merciful

We express our great satisfaction with the development of relations between our two brotherly countries and the first Iraqi-Saudi Coordinating Council is the fruit of joint efforts and good intentions that reflect our direction and policy, which we have seen at the same time from our brothers in the Kingdom, especially the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Ben Salman.

Our recent visit to the Kingdom has resulted in this Council, which will be an important turning point for cooperation and the strengthening of bilateral relations between our two countries and peoples in all fields.

We believe that cooperation, partnership and exchange of interests and linking them to a network of relations in various fields is the way to achieve the aspirations of our peoples in security, stability and development and expand security, economic, trade and cultural cooperation.

We have launched a program for the future of the region based on development and security rather than the differences and wars that we have suffered. It consists of five main points of development and giving hope to the youth.

The focus of cooperation against terrorism is a common goal of our two countries. We must work together and prove to the whole world that this terrorism does not represent our Islamic religion. It is an enemy of all humanity, and the Arab and Islamic countries are the most affected and destroyed, and the preacher started killing and displacing Muslims before other religions and beliefs. Other.

Iraq today is the day before yesterday. We have defeated terrorism and liberated our cities that have been occupied by a national unity weapon. Without unity, we would not have defeated terrorism. All Iraqis have stood united and our armed forces defend and welcome all the provinces.

We liberated our cities and moved to rebuild them. We managed to return most of the displaced people to their homes. We saved the unity of Iraq and the people. Iraq emerged united. The federal authority was able to extend its authority throughout the country and the law was imposed at the farthest point.

We have embarked on the principle of achieving justice and equality among all Iraqis, the participation of all in the resolution, ending ethnic and sectarian tension and not allowing its return.

Our domestic policy has been appreciated by all political forces and religious authorities because we looked at the Iraqis on the basis of their work and dedication, not on the basis of their identities, and our foreign policy towards openness and serious cooperation.

We respect the religious, national, intellectual and sectarian diversity in our country and cherish it, and our Constitution guarantees the rights of all. It is the supreme document that our people signed and voted for and committed to work with. The Constitution is the guarantor for solving all problems among the sons of the same homeland, and equal rights between Arabs, Kurds, Turkmen and other components. Just for national wealth.

We have to do our duty to protect the unity of the country and its national wealth, which is the property of all Iraqis according to the constitution and not the property of a party or a person. Or group.

We believe that the need to end armed conflicts and stop the policies of interfering in the affairs of others for the special interest of this country or that and start a new phase of comprehensive cooperation and economic integration. We believe that our security, stability, economy and interests must be done. And we must end these conflicts and interventions that have left millions of displaced people and destroyed our national wealth in the region. And we are ready to unite our efforts with the efforts of our brothers to start a new era of peace, stability and development and establish a network of interests that serve our peoples and deepen our relations and open the doors of the future for young people instead of being kidnapped by gangs of terrorism and crime.

The Iraqis have presented thousands of martyrs and wounded in the battle to defend our land and liberate it from a criminal gang. There is little left to complete the final victory and to secure the Iraqi-Syrian border. It is a victory for all Iraqis and for the peoples of the region and for the whole world and we promised before liberating the territories. We can not open up the doors of hope for the Iraqis in the liberated areas and the whole country, and increase the chances of stability, investment and development. We hope this cooperation between the two countries will increase the chances of development.

Therefore, we call today for the closure of all doors that allow terrorism to return and to distance our region from the conflicts that have afflicted its peoples.

We are keen on cooperation and sincere in extending our hand and we will work to make any step that will consolidate security, stability, prosperity and development. We are optimistic about the Joint Coordinating Council between Iraq and Saudi Arabia and what it will achieve for our two brotherly peoples. I urge the ministers of both sides to cooperate.

I renew my thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the hospitality we have been given,
