Iraqi Transport Minister Kazem al-Hamami said Saturday that the Vatican would build a hotel and a church in Ur to prepare for a pilgrimage to Christ.

Al-Hamami said in an interview with Mawazine News that "Dhi Qar airport has proved its usefulness and security procedures to disrupt the directions of airport expansion."

"The Vatican will build a hotel and a church in the holy Ur area," he said.

The relics and marshes of southern Iraq were listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List.

The Orr is an archaeological site of the Sumerian city located on the hill of Al-Mekir in southern Iraq. It was the capital of the Sumerian state in 2100 BC. It was an oval-shaped city located on the mouth of the Euphrates River in the Arabian Gulf near Eridu, but it is now located in a remote area far from the river. The Euphrates River has been flowing for thousands of years and is located a few kilometers from the southern city of Nasiriyah, 100 miles north of Basra.

It is considered one of the oldest known civilizations in the history of the world where the Prophet Ibrahim Abu Al-Anbiya was born in 2000 BC, and the city was famous for its ziggurat building.
