No surprise here. Laws have been sitting there in limbo for months, even years. These fools will look for any reason to postpone. Last session they blocked the Kurds from attending, then today they can't meet because the Kurds are absent. It's laughable that they even organize and submit a work agenda. And Jubouri has been setting Electoral Commission vote deadlines since summer. Pathetic fools.

70 deputies occupy large blocs with a weapon to disrupt the quorum to thwart the candidates of the Electoral Commission

 Baghdad / Mohammed Sabah

The Council intends to extend the work of the current Electoral Commission after the failure of efforts and efforts have been made to persuade the opposition MPs to turn away from their positions rejecting the candidates of the Committee of Parliamentary Experts. The bloc of opposition, which includes about 70 deputies, bet on ending the domination of the powerful parties over the new board of commissioners by resorting to breaking the quorum of the sessions of the House of Representatives and the disruption of the quorum.

Jubouri explains to the parliament the reasons for his visit to Erbil

Since 2017-10-09 at 13:08 (Baghdad time)

Baghdad Mawazine News

Speaker of the Parliament Salim al-Jubouri said Monday during his meeting on the reasons for his visit to Arbil and his meeting with Massoud Barzani.

At the time that Iraq is going through this dangerous juncture, the constant movement of abstract objectives and narrow objectives must be a collective approach and a general duty on decision makers, opinion people and the elite of the nation before things get complicated and go towards the one way that will not serve the country's highest interest. In the framework and political address we had a series of deliberations in Baghdad with important leaders in the state and the political process, we found that the completion requires a cross-opening to narrow frameworks and achieve the principle of unity formula containment and encirclement problem inside and not besieged from the outside, Of the important and essential stations that have revealed to us important opportunities to solve at least in the dimension of intentions and readiness for understanding within an acceptable framework, so as to create the appropriate ground for launching a broad and open dialogue instead of the policy of walls and solid barriers that may push one of the parties or their words to go to difficult options to me

"We have told everyone in Baghdad and Arbil that there is no choice but to return to the constitution in the direction of the mechanisms that will lead to the final solution to our worsening crisis one day after another and hour after hour," he said.

He addressed the members of Parliament by saying: "The House of Representatives stood at the forefront of the call to return the Constitution and the superiority of the language of dialogue and even those decisions taken by it was intended to maintain the unity of dialogue and as you know politicians are experienced dialogue with the enemy how to the people of the House and partners of the homeland, And it is important that we prove this reality through our faith in dialogue with those who disagree with us within the tent of the homeland. "

He continued, "The crisis has moved towards making the Iraqi territory a possible arena for external intervention, regardless of the fact that these international parties stand with us in our point of view or our differences. The sons of the homeland remain Iraqi, friends and brothers are friends and brothers no more and we are keen to sustain our brothers and friends with them to the extent that We are keen on the sovereignty of Iraq and sovereignty more expensive and more precious. "

"It is not possible to talk about everything as long as we are in the stage of maturity of the solution here in Baghdad we had an important round of dialogue paved the way for an important meeting with Arbil and we will reveal to you after the positive results close to all the details, but I want you to rest assured that no compromise at all On the unity of Iraq no matter what happened, and I appreciate your concern for that, but we will reap the results of this dialogue soon with the help of God in a way that avoids the internal conflict and puts us on the path of a solution that is done with the help of God and I think this is what you wish and seek for him and each of us his style and his way of reaching the same result.

He stressed that "the current dispute is not between the two governments in Baghdad and Arbil, but is a dispute threatens the existence of a state under the threat of the principle of partnership or belief, there are two approaches in courage either the courage of escalation and conflict or the courage of peace and dialogue, and when I hear that there are movements towards the tribes to seek to join areas Specific to the project of a region beyond the idea of the Kurdistan region and that there is a disturbing response, I have the responsibility to preserve the fate of certain areas held me responsible for representation in the institution of the state and a broad popular will to express our survival within the framework of a unified Iraq.
