French President Emmanuel Macaron announced on Thursday that Paris and Baghdad would sign a strategic framework agreement early next year 2018.

I was catching up on some of the articles and this catch phrase (from this past Wednesday) really, really caught my eye.

The US and Iraq had announced some agreement on a "Strategic Framework Agreement" (SFA) earlier this year while there have been calls by Iraq to implement the US Strategic Framework Agreement as recently as a couple months ago or so.

This string of articles has the same language and feel of earlier articles regarding the SFA if France is substituted with the US in these articles. Maybe the SFA catch phrase is something to watch for in other articles with other major countries. If the key SFAs have to do with the Permanent UN Security Council members + 1 (US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany), then these SFAs may be implemented all at the same time and then we are all of to the races.

Just fine cuisine (?) for cognitive processing (or such) and my :twocents:

Go Moola Nova!

The Iraqi arena is witnessing a wide diplomatic movement, represented by official and semi-official delegations' visits.

Perhaps the most recent visit of Prime Minister Dr. Haidar Abadi to France had culminated in this visit successes in various levels and the most important and what concerns us here on this page economic relations.

This movement comes at a time when we need to create the requirements of the stage of construction and reconstruction in the wake of what was destroyed by "Daash" and after the elimination.

These visits are also of great benefit to Iraq and the targeted countries in order to present the investment opportunities needed by the country on the one hand and to see the available needs of the country and the requirements for its construction and reconstruction.

In the same context, I would like to point out a very important issue. In my press columns, for years I have called for the importance of involving the private sector in delegations as a strategic partner with the government, especially those that have the expertise and capabilities to assist the government in selecting important investments. Country.

Then the economic approach was centered on the transformation from the totalitarian economy to the market economy and free economy, which requires the private sector to be the top in the management of the economic file.

Our vision in this regard has been met with a response to the fact that the delegation has included members of the private sector with official delegations.

However, it is noted that the process of selecting private sector representatives was limited to specific names without taking into consideration the diversity required in the other terms of reference, which weakens the purpose of accompanying delegations.

For example, we did not see that among the delegations representing the private banking sector, this is contrary to the requirements of investors in the presence and presence of banks that meet the needs of the needs of companies and investors.

Therefore, the private banking sector should have a distinctive representation, especially since it has gone a long way in building relationships and partnerships with foreign investors. This is a worthy note to the concerned authorities, taking into consideration that diversity in the selection of the private sector is fruitful and constructive.

And we have regional and international experiences in this context, where the representation of banks in the forefront of mutual visits as a strategic partner for investors.

Therefore, we call attention to those responsible for nominating and selecting representatives of delegations to achieve a balance in the right choice of the diverse business sector

because the current stage can not wait but accelerate the investment of the situation in favor of building and developing the country.
