Commander of the Iraq's Army Golden Division Lt General Fadel Barwari announced Thursday that the location of ISIS leader's location has been detected inside the Syrian territories.

In press statements on Thursday, Lt General Barwari said strenuous efforts are being exerted to arrested Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the terrorist group.

ISIS leader's location has been detected through a phone call he has made.

The Iraqi commander also said that Peshmerga troops have played a major role in chasing out the militants of ISIS from Mosul city which has been under the control of the terrorist group since June 2014.

He also asserted that Baghdadi has committed severe human rights' breaches and brutalities and should stand trial.

BAGHDAD — Iraqi Interior Minister Jabir Zubaidi claims that the Islamic State (IS) leader Abu Bakir al-Baghdadi is hiding in an area near Rutba and Qaim districts of western Iraq.

“According to the intelligence gathered by our forces, Abu Bakir al-Baghdadi is staying in underground rooms dug in the east of Rutba and Qaim districts,” Zubaidi said in a statement.

He further explained that these underground hideouts have been established by IS in 2013 before the extremist group overran Mosul. “They were then intended to be used to organize attacks on Baghdad,” he added.

The Iraqi minister also warned that these hideouts, numbering tens, must be discovered and destroyed or they can accommodate jihadists who pose threat to Anbar and Salahaddin provinces.

The statement comes after the US military sources said earlier this week that the IS Leader, the most-wanted terrorist at the moment, has left Mosul and now is hiding in the desert, without specifying his exact whereabouts.

Leader of ISIS terror group Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi has been spotted near the Iraqi-Syrian borders, sources in Nineveh province said Saturday.

ISIS leader appeared at the Iraqi borders with Syria, near Bukmal area, the sources added, stating that Baghdadi is still moving in the area controlled by the terrorist group.
 

He seemed unable to talk. And he was moving in an unguarded vehicle in order not to raise suspicions about his whereabouts, the sources noted.
 

According to them, the leader of the terror group gathered a number of his supporters, from the tribes pledging allegiance to ISIS, and addressed them, blasting the Iraqi's dwindling support for the group.
 

Battles that the terror group is waging are fought by Arab and foreign recruits.
 

Intelligence information indicates that Baghdadi is moving in the desert area between Anbar and Nineveh as well as the areas between the Iraqi-Syrian borders, the sources stated.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:24 A.M.) – Reports have emerged that ISIS leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has been spotted outside of Mosul, which would frustrate Iraq forces trying to capture him.

The reports say that he was spotted in the border area of Iraq and Syria, as the ISIS-held areas of Mosul face collapse amid strong advances by the Iraqi forces.

Baghdadi suggested that the collapse of ISIS in Nineveh is because of local fighters betraying the foreign jihadists, without elaborating further.

The source said that the leader is not traveling in a convoy in an effort to evade detection and capture from security forces.

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) Islamic State supreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been seen near Nineveh’s borders with Syria, apparently in a poor health condition, sources told Alsumaria News.

A local source in Nineveh told the network Saturday that Baghdadi, who the source said appeared near the borders with Syria’s Boukamal, looked skinny and unable to speak clearly due to past traumas. He was moving unguarded so as not to draw suspicions.

Alsumaria News, quoting the source, said Baghdadi rallied a number of his tribal supporters and voiced criticism of Iraqi members of his group for failing to exhibit enough backing for Arab and foreign members who, he said, were leading the battle against security forces.

Since Islamic State took over several areas of Iraq to proclaim an “Islamic Caliphate”, Baghdadi’s exact whereabouts have remained a mystery and subject to clashing speculations. The ambiguity increased as the Iraqi government launched an offensive in October 2016 to retake Mosul, Islamic State’s previously-proclaimed capital.

A U.S. official was recently quoted saying Baghdadi had fled Mosul before Iraqi forces surrounded the city. Other reports claimed he had admitted defeat and urged his fighters to withdraw. Some security observers said he remained in the group’s Syrian stronghold city of Raqqa.

Iraqi government forces took over eastern Mosul in January and are currently struggling to clear the western region from IS militants. They have become closer to the central Mosul Nuri Mosque where Baghdadi first appeared in a sermon that saw the declaration of the Islamic State’s rule.

ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has appeared near the Iraqi-Syrian borders skinny and unable to talk normally due to injuries he suffered earlier as he accused local Iraqi militants of betraying immigrant elements, a local source in Nineveh revealed.

The source said, in a press statement, that al-Baghdadi appeared briefly in the border area of al-Bukamal where ISIS is still holding its grip over it, noting that the leader of the terrorist group is unable to speak and uses a normal vehicle to travel unlike before when he used to use armored vehicles for protection.

Al-Baghdadi gathered his loyalists from the local tribes and gave them a speech where he criticized the lack of support from Iraqis to the foreign militants in the group, according to the source.

Accurate intelligence information indicated that al-Baghdadi is currently traveling in the desert areas between Anbar and Nineveh near the Iraqi-Syrian borders.

Several days ago, Commander of the Iraq's Army Golden Division Lt General Fadel Barwari announced that the location of ISIS leader's location has been detected inside the Syrian territories.

In press statements, Lt General Barwari said strenuous efforts are being exerted to arrest Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the terrorist group.

In January, press reports claimed that that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been 'critically injured' in air strikes in northern Iraq.

The terror mastermind is said to have been wounded after a bombing raid in Al-Ba'aj, it has been reported by local sources.
