My Conservative friends tell me: Liberalism is a Mental Disorder or if you will - a Mental Disease. Either way they guzzle the " Kool Aid. " In my Grade School days in the 60's-in California, the Liberal Agenda was already playing out in History & Social Studies classes.

As a kid, some things you know, just aren't right. Fortunately for me my Dad had a Library full of books that ran the table on Socialism/Communism/Fascism/Nazism & Capitalism. . . as well as Philosophy & a lot of the classics.

By the time I was 16, I'd read Karl Marx's ( insidious S.O.B. ) Communist Manifesto. Dad was a WWII Vet . . . He sure didn't like NAZIS or COMMIES !

I was fortunate to grow up in times where nearly ALL my Mentors were WWI & WWII and even several Korean War Vets . . . and conservatives.

With all the Socialist Liberal Leftists running around under the false guise of being TRUE PATRIOTIC AMERICANS all the while attempting to destroy completely what the WWII, Korean, and all the other Veterans Of Foreign Wars fought for, count me in with the TRUE PATRIOTIC AMERICANS to stand for what is right (nonviolently here, of course)! Unimaginable idiocy with these miscreants but the battle must be fought (ideologically) for ourselves and those we LOVE in future generations! The WWII, Korean, and all the other Veterans Of Foreign Wars fought for their and future generations of those THEY LOVED!

Washington - The US administration has imposed financial sanctions on five Iranian companies after being accused of participating in Iran's ballistic missile program.

In a statement issued by US Treasury Secretary Steven Menuchin, five industrial companies, which are listed on the US black list, have also been placed on the list, freezing all assets in the United States and preventing any commercial transactions With them, and prevents their entry into the American financial system.

The companies are Martyr Kharazi Industrial Company, Martyr Sanikhani Industrial Company, Martyr Muqaddam Industrial Company, Martyr Al Islami Research Center, Shahid Shostari Industrial Company.

These companies are accused of developing and manufacturing equipment for Iranian ballistic missiles that include propulsion systems and other ground support equipment.

"These sanctions target fundamental entities involved in ballistic missile programs that Iran gives priority to at the expense of the economic empowerment of the people," the Treasury Secretary said in a statement.

"The United States will continue to confront the evil intentions of the Iranian regime by adding sanctions aimed at violations of human rights," the statement said.

Menuchin refers to recent protests in Iran that killed more than 20 people.

US President Donald Trump announced in October his refusal to recognize Iran's commitment to the nuclear deal signed in 2015.

Trump, however, no longer reinforces sanctions, nor does he cancel the deal, preferring to refer the file to Congress to address "many deep weaknesses in the agreement."

US law requires the president to report to Congress every 90 days whether Iran respects the agreement and whether it is in line with the national interest of the United States.

The mid-January is a pivotal date in the United States and is expected to see the president sign separately on extending the suspension of sanctions.

It will be difficult for the US president to do so, especially after the sharp criticism he has directed against the Iranian regime in recent days on the back of his handling of the protest movement in the country.

Members of Congress began difficult discussions to draft a bill that would pave the way for a re-activation of US sanctions against Iran in the future, based on purely American standards. This is of great concern to the signatory partners, first and foremost the European partners.

Washington is determined to "use all sources of information it has to gather concrete information about those behind repression, violate human rights and use violence against demonstrators to hand over this information to our mechanism that chooses sanctions," a US administration official said on Wednesday.

Iran has been witnessing violent demonstrations against the economic crisis for several days before it gradually turned into a rejection of the entire Islamic regime. At least 21 people have been killed in violence since the start of the protests on December 28 in Mashhad (northeast).

According to figures released by the authorities, 450 people have been arrested in Tehran since Saturday evening and hundreds more in other provinces.

Tramb will extend the easing of sanctions on Iran and keep the nuclear deal
[Oan- follow - up] a
source familiar with US President said that Donald Trump will extend the easing of sanctions on Iran under the nuclear agreement concluded by the Islamic Republic in 2015 with the United States and other world powers, leaving the agreement on the current situation.
But the source expected Trump to give the US Congress and European allies a deadline to improve the deal, which he had already promised to cancel. Without this move, Trump may renew his threat to withdraw from the deal.
Trump has a deadline to decide on sanctions. A decision to halt the easing of sanctions would effectively end an agreement that would curb Tehran's nuclear program.
The White House is expected to announce the decision on Friday.
The source said Trump would agree to extend the easing of sanctions but also decided to impose new sanctions on Iran.
Two senior officials of the Trump administration told Reuters on Wednesday that the president had expressed in private conversations a reluctance to listen to the advice of senior advisers and recommended not to renew the sanctions.
Trump had previously said his predecessor Barack Obama was negotiating a bad deal for the United States.

Trump extends commitment to nuclear agreement with Iran "for the last time"
US President Donald Trump has decided to extend the United States' commitment to a nuclear deal with Iran only once it is changed or abandoned, White House officials said.

Under Trump's decision, the sanctions are lifted from Iran for 120 days [4 months].
"In the absence of such an agreement, the United States will not again suspend sanctions to stay in Iran's nuclear agreement, and if I see at any time that such an agreement is elusive, I will withdraw immediately," a White House statement said.
The Trump administration wants the European parties to sign the agreement to impose permanent restrictions on Iran's uranium enrichment. Under the current deal, the restrictions on enrichment are to be lifted in 2025.
Trump also wants to deal with Iran's ballistic missile program.

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran said on Saturday it would respond to US sanctions against its chief justice after US President Donald Trump intensified his efforts to "reform" the nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers.

Trump said on Friday he would extend the suspension of nuclear sanctions on Iran for the last time to give Washington and its European allies a chance to fix "appalling flaws" in the 2015 nuclear deal.

Washington also announced the imposition of new sanctions on 14 entities and individuals, including the head of the Iranian judiciary, Ayatollah Sadiq Larijani, as quoted by "Reuters".

"The Trump anti-Larijani regime has ... crossed all red lines of conduct in the international community and is a violation of international law and the Islamic Republic will certainly respond to it seriously," the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement carried by state media.

On Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif said through his Twitter account that Trump's decision undermined the multilateral agreement.

This is potentially spectacular! Four months places the next move on Iran at the same time as the scheduled Iraqi elections!!!

Could this potentially be the “Nuclear Option”???!!!

With President Donald J Trump’s actions regarding Iran recently, I suspect there is a whole lot more going on behind the scenes that we may or may not see (ever)!!!

The Iranian parliament rejects any change in the structure of the nuclear deal

  Trend Press / Continue

The president of the Iranian Islamic Shura Council said that the changes that the US president is talking about mean destroying the entire nuclear agreement, stressing that the council rejects any change in the structure of the nuclear agreement..

In a speech to parliament on Sunday, Larijani referred to the recent illegal measures by the United States to impose a ban on some Iranian figures and institutions, saying that American practices have become such that the ban on these people is a source of pride.

Larijani said the council would never accept any change in the structure of the nuclear deal and that the change that the president is talking about is equivalent to destroying the agreement. If he carries such ideas, he does not need to wait for several more months, he should know that he does not build anything behind it..

Larijani pointed out that the inappropriate practices of the US president are cause for regret and ridicule and reveal his folly and said his puzzling statements two days ago in describing the African peoples with a very bad language makes him far from being a political figure. He added that the hostility of some countries during these incidents was also an example for all segments of the Iranian people.

US analysis: Will Iran really control the Middle East?

US analysis: Will Iran really control the Middle East?

 Twilight News

[Asharq Al-Awsat] Can Iran control the Middle East? Does it really have the military and financial capabilities to govern the Arab world, which suffers from economic problems and demonstrations, and possesses old weapons, most of which dates back to Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi? Is American obsession with Iran really justified? Why should the United States play the role of a counterbalance to the game of power in the region?
These questions were the focus of an article in Foreign Policy magazine by Stephen M. Walt, Professor of International Relations at Harvard University, criticizing Donald Trump's strategy in Iran, which is based on stopping Iran's influence in the region. Defense James Matisse and United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nicky Healy, on Iran's activities.
"Trump and his team of supporters have adopted the idea that Iran is a hegemonic power that wants to dominate the Middle East, especially the rich Gulf states, which explains the firm support of Saudi Arabia, including the (tactical and clear) endorsement of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, of procedures at home, and his attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of Lebanon, Trump refused to ratify the nuclear agreement in October.
"Iran is not on its way to becoming a regional power, and officials are embracing this dangerous hysterical idea," Walt said in his article. "The US rhetoric on offensive foreign policy is more than the real challenge posed by Iran."
The professor offers a comparison between Iran's military capabilities and its neighbors and the demographic and sectarian differences that stand in the face of Iran's attempts to take full control of the region.
Iran has a population of 85 million, an annual national income of $ 400 billion, military expenditures of $ 16 billion and its military capabilities, including the Revolutionary Guard, no more than 520,000 soldiers, some of whom have received only poor training, Pointing out that the tanks and most of its military arsenal back to the era of the Shah, which is in poor condition.
"Iran's traditional military capabilities are very limited and depend on old-fashioned low-quality weapons ... and its forces are not organized to show serious military strength in the Gulf region," the magazine quoted veteran military analyst Anthony Cordesman as saying in 2010.
Walt pointed out that the population of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Israel, Jordan and the UAE is more than 100 million people, with an annual income of up to one trillion dollars. The total military expenditures are five times the military expenditures of Iran, pointing out that these countries have money to buy Abrams tanks,
The writer states that Israel is a nuclear state, indicating that if these countries were attacked by Iran, it will find support from the United States to defend itself.
"Opponents of the Islamic Republic may argue that the problem is not in these facts, but in Tehran's reliance on proxy groups," Walt said.
The author admits that in previous years, Iran has supported local forces, including Hezbollah, the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the Iraqi militias and the Houthis in Yemen, giving it influence in the region.
"But let's not forget the terrible mistakes of US President George W. Bush, who overthrew Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, who gave Iran the power to influence," Walt said.
But the author believes that the Islamic regime is incapable of hegemony for several reasons. "Local groups do not fully comply with Iran's orders, and may deviate from Iranian politics when they run counter to its agenda. Hence, the talk of some, like Henry Kissinger, about a new Persian empire has no meaning for him".
"In contrast, Iran's allies in the region have suffered setbacks that have made Tehran spend a lot on arms, emptied its funds to support efforts, and Assad's victory remains empty because he governs a destructive country. Tactical agreement between Israel and the Gulf states against Tehran. "
"The sectarian factor is important in reducing the ability of Iran to lead the region, it is a Shiite state wants to rule the region of the majority of the population of the Sunnis, in addition to that Iran is a Persian state, and will not find support from the Arabs or any Arab country to control the region" .
"Iran, which for the last two decades has suffered from economic sanctions, cyberwarring, external financing of its hostile groups, and threats from the conservative right, who in 2003 and after the overthrow of Saddam Hussein asserted that the mullahs in Tehran are the next target, Iran has done everything possible to thwart this goal, and have we expected the silence of Iran and the most powerful nation in the world preparing to overthrow its regime? "
"Under this logic and imaginary threat, Trump must return to the traditional role that the United States has played in the region as a balance of power, rather than giving Saudi Arabia and Israel an open instrument to confront imaginary Iranian hegemony. Rather, Washington must seek to find More balanced relations with all countries in the region, including Iran. "
Walt shows that a balanced approach will lead to cooperation on issues of interest to Americans and Iranians such as Afghanistan. "A good relations perspective with the United States will provide incentives for Tehran to change its positions," he said. "Previous US attempts to isolate the mullahs led them to play the role of a saboteur with some success."
"Such an approach will push US allies in the region to think hard and not rely on American support as a fait accompli, but will encourage them to make efforts to appease it," he concluded.

Assistant Secretary of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Massoud Jazairi, said that part of American society supports the Islamic Republic of Iran and calls on their government to end its excesses.

"The international community should provide comprehensive support to the American people in their demonstrations and confront the evil government in this country," he said. "The country's politicians are not allowed to continue their diabolical plans, which will cause more disasters for the American people and other peoples."

He noted that the continuation of the turmoil and the escalation in the US will force the rulers of this country to stop interfering in the internal affairs of other countries.

Asharq Al-Awsat
US Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorist Financing Marshall Billingslea has urged Lebanon to ensure “Hezbollah” is not part of the financial sector, the US embassy in Beirut said.

The mission said that Billingslea’s two-day visit to Beirut this week was aimed at discussing ways to combat illicit finance, including financing of Hezbollah’s “terrorist and trafficking activities.”

During the visit, the US official met with President Michel Aoun, Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Minister of Finance Ali Hassan Khalil, Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh, Chairman of the Banking Control Commission Samir Hammoud, the Association of Banks of Lebanon, and the Union of Arab Banks.

In his meetings, Billingslea “stressed the importance of countering Iranian malign activity in Lebanon, and the US commitment to help Lebanon protect its financial system from Hezbollah, ISIS, and other terrorist organizations,” the embassy said in a statement.

“Billingslea also urged Lebanon to take every possible measure to ensure Hezbollah is not part of the financial sector,” it said.

Billingslea “highlighted the close partnership that the US government has with the Central Bank of Lebanon and Lebanese financial institutions, and reiterated the importance of adhering to US sanctions.”

The US Congress adopted a law in 2015 for sanctions against banks that knowingly finance Hezbollah.

Billingslea reiterated Washington’s commitment to protect and promote the Lebanese financial system and to support a stable and prosperous Lebanon, the US embassy added.

His visit came after US Attorney General Jeff Session's announcement earlier this month that the Justice Department is forming a team of prosecutors to investigate drug trafficking and money laundering activity linked to Hezbollah.

Senior member of Hezbollah: US Treasury delegation's visit to Beirut is not surprising

BEIRUT, Jan 28 (KUNA) - The US Treasury delegation, which recently visited Lebanon, did not carry a surprising content for Hezbollah and all that is presented is part of the project aimed at the resistance, which will not provide any kind of pressure.

NoPic100x56.png

Musawi in a block to meet resistance , a member pointed out in an interview, told IRNA news that Hizbullah is reassuring to the position of President Michel Aoun as the performance of the governor of the Bank of Lebanon The following full interview:
* IRNA: after a visit to the Ministry of the last Treasury delegation to Lebanon was trading information on Americans Showed during the visit a great deal of hardness towards Hezbollah, what is your comment on this matter?
** Hussein al-Moussawi: We believe that everything the American can economically and militarily will not be late in the foot. When the US hesitates to take any hostile action against Hezbollah, the reason is its inability to take this measure or its unwillingness to bear the consequences. Therefore, the visit of the Treasury delegation does not surprise us, either in terms of form or content. We consider Hezbollah to be in a strong position and to draw up plans that are in line with the worst Americans can impose on us.
[Asharq Al-Awsat] Today, it is known that the target of American pressure and measures is the resistance environment and the Hezbollah public. Can this targeting be mitigated?
** Hussein al-Moussawi: Of course it is known and clear that the American project targeted businessmen and traders classified in the category of supporters of the resistance and I think that a large number of traders began to take measures to mitigate the impact of the procedures either on the environment of resistance, convinced that this environment is ready to withstand a large extent.
* Arena: Are you satisfied with the official position?
** Hussein al-Moussawi: The official position in Lebanon sometimes seems distracted. We are satisfied with the positions of the President of the Republic and we trust him and we see his awareness and ability and his great sense of responsibility towards the resistance. As for some of the parties, in the final stage, we hear opinions and positions that are not understood by the Israeli enemy and the relationship with him. I think that mistakes are being made.
* IRNA: What about the position of the banking sector?
Hussein al-Moussawi: So far, the performance of the Governor of the Banque du Liban is acceptable and responsible, and there is a lot of attention to the sensitivity of the issue, but unfortunately there are banks that can not be relied on and we may see a response by them with the Americans.
[Asharq Al-Awsat] Is not the visit of the American delegation a derogation from Lebanese sovereignty?
** Hussein al-Moussawi: Yes, this visit is a blatant interference of the Americans in Lebanon, and this makes us wonder: Why do some of the resurrection if an Arab brother visited our country and bring peace from the borders of the homeland to the land of Palestine and we ask those concerned to take responsibility national and moral and Lebanon and the Lebanese.
