ISO 4217 Amendment Number 164

Amendments of currency names

Effective from 1 January 2018, the following change will be made to “List one: Currency, fund and precious metal codes”:

The Central Bank of S. Tomé and Príncipe is carrying out an important Monetary Reform Project, with the entry into circulation of a new family of DOBRAS. The conversion rate is 1000 (old) Dobras to 1 (new) Dobra (1000:1).

From 1 January 2018 to 30 June 2018, the old and new denominations run concurrently.

Effective from 1 January 2018, the following change will be made to “List three: Codes for historic denominations of currencies and funds”:

With immediate effect, the following change is made to “List one: Currency, fund and precious metal codes”:

Amended currency name for PHILIPPINES (THE): Philippine Piso (instead of Peso)

With immediate effect, the following changes are made to “List three: Codes for historic denominations of currencies and funds”:

These amendments are the result of review and analysis of historical data that has not been updated to reference numeric codes.

The Central Bank of S. Tomé and Príncipe is moving to a  monetary policy of the Dobra . Currently 1000 to 1 to a new 1 to 1 ? Thank You Markinusa .

This is a ISO Notification for a Central Bank, I get these notifications whenever there is an ISO Change for Currency.  The one above I thought was interesting because of the 1000 to 1 notification.  This is appears to be a LOP for this Financial Instrument.  So, if Iraq came out with a new Currency to replace the old,  it will look something like this, and there will be a notification like this too.  It may be after the fact though...  Just my rambling thoughts...
