revealed early Friday a source, the former Iraqi minister , who was arrested by the Beirut airport , noting that the former trade minister Abdul Falah al - Sudani. 

The source said in an interview with Alsumaria News, "The former Iraqi minister, who was arrested at Beirut airport today, is the former Minister of Commerce Abdul Falah al-Sudani." 

"Sudan is wanted by INTERPOL," the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Lebanese media reported on Friday that the authorities had arrested a former Iraqi minister wanted by INTERPOL at Beirut airport.

 


The Integrity Committee of the House of Representatives, earlier, that the judicial authorities sentenced in absentia to the former Minister of Commerce Abdul Falah al-Sudani to seven years in prison for corruption.

The Islamic Dawa Party (Dawa) announced on Saturday its innocence from former trade minister Abdul Falah al-Sudani, accused of millions of dollars in financial corruption. 


"Some media outlets have reported the arrest of former trade minister Falah al-Sudani in Beirut by Interpol on charges of integrity," a spokesman for the Dawa party's media office said in a statement. 

The spokesman added that the party 'confirms that Falah al-Sudani was separated from the organization of the party in 2000, and took office in 2006 as a representative of another bloc'. 

Lebanese media reported on Thursday evening that Interpol had arrested the Sudanese, who has British citizenship required to eliminate corruption cases.

(Baghdad: Al Furat News) Commenting on the Islamic Dawa Party on the news of the arrest of former trade minister Falah al-Sudani in Beirut through Interpol, calling for not to mix the papers.
"Some media outlets have reported that former Trade Minister Falah al-Sudani was arrested in Beirut by Interpol on charges of integrity," a spokesman for the Dawa Islamic Party's press office said in a statement received by AFP. 
"The Dawa Party confirms that Falah al-Sudani broke away from the party's organization in 2000 and took office in 2006 as a representative of another bloc," he said. 
He concluded, "We hope the media to be careful in transmitting the news and not to mix the papers intentionally or spontaneously." 
The Commission on Integrity in the House of Representatives, earlier, that the judicial authorities sentenced in absentia to the former Minister of Commerce Abdul Falah Sudanese sentenced to seven years to convict him on corruption cases.

Runaway Ex-Iraqi Minister Arrested in Beirut
 

 

ERBIL— Lebanese security service arrested on Saturday the former Iraqi trade minister, Abdul-Fallah al-Sudani, who is convicted of corruption.  

Sudani, wanted by the Interpol, was arrested in Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport.

In 2012, Sudani was convicted of embezzlement in absentia and sentenced to seven years in jail.

As a leader in the former Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki's Shi'ite Dawa Party, he served as trade minister 2006-2009.  

After he was accused by the Integrity Board of corruption, he attempted to flee but was arrested in Baghdad Airport. He was then released on bail and later had the chance to flee.

That is what I was thinking. Flip on him so Interpol has no option but to issue a warrant for his arrest.

On Sunday, the Integrity Commission issued a clarification on the suspension of former Minister of Commerce Abdul Falah al-Sudani at Beirut airport.

"The efforts of the Authority - the Recovery Department - and the supporting authorities, in cooperation with INTERPOL International and the Beirut Contact Division, resulted in the arrest of the fugitive convict Abdel Faleh Hassan Hammadi Al Sudani on Thursday, 7/9/2017," a statement issued by Mawazine News said. At Beirut airport ".

The statement added that "the arrest was based on the red bulletin issued by INTERPOL International, which was organized on the basis of files and requests prepared and processed by the recovery department in the Commission in cooperation with the Presidency of the Public Prosecution, where the red leaflet was circulated to all countries of the world, The Commission was quick to take further legal action to be announced later. "

He added that "the information registered with the Commission on the convicted indicates the establishment in the United Kingdom, where the follow-up continued in previous years with all international and national levels and at the highest levels; in order to hand over the convict to Iraq, but the British authorities were apologizing for his extradition on the pretext of unknown Stay ".

The statement pointed out that "the recovery department prepared in advance eight files ready to hand over Sudanese convict, in addition to the preparation and completion of hundreds of other ready-made files related to the recovery of funds and delivery of convicts mentioned in the reports of the Commission quarterly and annual." 

The agency praised the efforts of all its collaborators, including the Head of Public Prosecution, the Ministry of Interior, the Arab and International Police Directorate, the Foreign Ministry, the Legal Department, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Lebanon and the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the United Kingdom. Hmmmm how did this happen?  Maliki has one of his puppets post bail, slide him some cash and tell him how to slip out of the country. Just don't implicate ol Nuri in anything. These guys aren't too smart, skip bail then try to catch a plane. Like nobody is going to notice. ;)

A government source revealed on Monday that the former Minister of Commerce Abd al-Falah al-Sudani was included in the amnesty law and was released on that basis.

The source told Mawazine News that "al-Sudani was arrested on the background of a warrant issued by Interpol and was released on the basis of a letter sent by the Iraqi government clarifying its coverage of the amnesty law."

On Sunday (September 11, 2017), the Integrity Commission issued a statement on the arrest of former Minister of Commerce Abdul Falah al-Sudani at Beirut airport, asserting that she made efforts to arrest him. The operation was based on Interpol's red bulletin.

The Lebanese authorities announced earlier today that al-Sudani was released after being arrested at Beirut airport
