yota691
Parliamentary integrity reveals gaps between "control arms" that hinder the fight against corruption Since 2017-09-07 at 13:09 (Baghdad time) Baghdad Mawazine News The Parliamentary Integrity Committee revealed on Thursday that there are gaps between the arms of the supervisory bodies, which seriously hinder the fight against corruption, pointing out that the need is a real and national will for everyone to get rid of the scourge of corruption. "There are gaps between the arms of the supervisory bodies such as the Integrity Commission, the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, the Financial Control Bureau, the Anti-Corruption Committees and others, and the lack of coordination that hinders the fight against corruption in the fullest manner," committee member Abdul Karim Abtan told Mawazine News. "The anti-corruption file requires a serious and genuine will to get rid of this scourge. There are intentions, but they are lacking in will. We often demanded new and practical mechanisms, and we even called for the United Nations to intervene in this matter," he said. He pointed out that "the best proof of this is that the Fund to recover money from abroad in the Ministry of Finance has not met since its founding only once," calling for "a pause on the fact of fighting corruption and assume responsibilities towards it to rebuild the country again." He pointed out that "there are huge files if it was working on them through which can retrieve billions of dollars to the treasury of the state." Abtan referred to the real estate file of the state, saying: "I submitted an application accompanied by more than 50 signatures to the parliamentary speaker of the parliament more than a year ago to form committees and investigate the issue and work to bring it back, but he did not see the light so far and no result was reached, "Some properties, if invested, revolve around the state money in millions of dollars." "The best anti-corruption project in Iraq is the" peaceful way "of accounting corruption whales down to the lowest level of officials, he said. While expecting "the continuation of the accounting and prosecution of general managers involved in corruption, which rose during the last period."
