Advertising Auction Results

The Central Bank of Egypt approved the auction of C165 for the sale of 91-day (100) billion dinars (100 billion Kuwaiti Dinars) auction, and the sale of 10 billion dinars at a multiple interest rate and the highest discount rate (1.50% ), And the number of participants (3) has won one bank in the amounts provided.

This isn't a 

title confusing to me. 100 billion Kuwaiti dinars is like 356 billion dollars or 400 trillion Iraqi dinars. All rough numbers of course so I'm trying to figure out who auctioned them and who backed them. Yota? Any insight would be most welcome. It's a short term bond sale but the numbers are staggering, compared to what they have been dealing with.

 

Come on Iraq mr.U needs a new pair of flip flops!

Good morning Yota and DV ! The link Yota provided is not mobile friendly however I was able to navigate the site. It certainly appears that Iraq is gearing up for international business. Iraq has an IBAN number and has already established relationships with many Middle East banks. I would say that it is just a short time matter and the IQD will become acceptable again. The only reason banks have not been dealing with it is because Iraq was on the terrorist list. Well guess what ? The USA is now trenched in and ISIS and corruption are both coming to a halt , we can verify this through the articles Yota and the rest here at DV bring us. It's going to be a beautiful day !

"It's a short term bond sale but the numbers are staggering, compared to what they have been dealing with"......An Awesome Amount of Money . I have not seen an auction or bond sale in this amount the entire time I have been on this site. Thank You Yota , MR. U. (John Lobb , Salvatore Ferragamo . Both good choices )

I can't help but wonder if Egypt, etc. are test cases for other intended actions. Egypt auctioning KWD in healthy quantities in multiple auctions for a relatively short term???!!!

 

Maybe a form of hedge using other countries like Egypt, etc.???!!!

 

Why are the four sales in increments of nominally 1 Quarter (three months)???!!! 2 Quarters then 4 Quarters then 1 Quarter then 3 Quarters???!!!

 

Are we within a Quarter???!!! Now???!!!

 

Maybe my connect the dots is way, way off this morning. I dunno.

Synopsis- I was thinking the exact same thing in regards to testing - and yes, the numbers are staggering- but only compared to what we've seen thus far in Iraq and not when compared to other countries that have it all together in this respect. My understanding of Short-term bonds is anything around 24 hours- although the definition may have changed. If that's the case then this is a momentous occasion for the CBI to finally function at an International capacity.  Go RV!!!

Valid point ... However we wait for those few elusive ends to be finalised and it seems the HCL paperwork seems to be lost in transit... JMO

I see major Items . Contracts . MOU's being timely shoehorned into place by the IMF , UN , US and others . I'm also quietly excited about Maliki and his people on the run or making preparations to be on the run . If they are running out . A New GOI and an New Day must be moving in .
