A truer statement has never been made......Playing chicken with the lives of 20 million civilian Seoul souls living 40 miles from the DMZ is not cool.  As always, just my opinion.

I do not view it as playing chicken, but for sake of brevity so be it.  But tell me how did that appeasement policy of Clintons, through his emissary Jimmy Carter, work out?  Were you in favor of that?  Then there was Obummer red line :lmao: saying he would never accept a nuclear North Korea but did nothing.  Is that the kind of effective policy you support?   Two Nobel Peace Prize winners who did nothing while the little madman used the reactors and money we supplied to build nuclear weapons.  So when Obummer said nuclear NK is unacceptable that was not a problem because you knew he would do nothing, but Trump scares you because he will do something?  Well, something needs to be done.  I know it is a waste of time to ask, but what would you do?  Better yet, what policies would be effective and acceptable to you?

You can thank Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton for North Korea’s nukes

North Korea’s boast that it just detonated its first hydrogen bomb met instant doubts from the White House and arms experts. If they’re right, Pyongyang “only” has plain-old atomic bombs. What a . . . relief?

But, as one Chinese expert told The Wall Street Journal, the H-bomb claim still shows that tyrant Kim Jong-un is “marching in that direction.”

For all this, thank Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. North Korea couldn’t have done it without their gullibility.

Back in 1994, President Clinton prepared to confront North Korea over CIA reports it had built nuclear warheads and its subsequent threats to engulf Japan and South Korea in “a sea of fire.”

Enter self-appointed peacemaker Carter: The ex-prez scurried off to Pyongyang and negotiated a sellout deal that gave North Korea two new reactors and $5 billion in aid in return for a promise to quit seeking nukes.

Clinton embraced this appeasement as achieving “an end to the threat of nuclear proliferation on the Korean Peninsula” — with compliance verified by international inspectors. Carter wound up winning the Nobel Peace Prize for his dubious efforts.

But in 2002, the North Koreans ’fessed up: They’d begun violating the accord on Day One. Four years later, Pyongyang detonated its first nuke.

Now, the Obama administration (long content to kick the North Korea can down the road) says it will never “accept” a nuclear North Korea. Funny: The president said the same thing about Iran, then cut a deal that guarantees the ayatollahs go atomic.

Yet North Korea is more of a wild card, a concentration camp of a nation run by a tiny, ruthless elite. If it ever lives up to its boasts and unleashes that “sea of fire,” will Carter, Clinton and Obama shed public tears for Pyongyang’s victims?

How is it you can just flippantly skip over Dubya's presidency like it didn't exist?  Anyways, I don't have the answers to the NK situation.  I simply see it as ending one of two ways....War and the quick death of millions, or loud bombastic words from two power hungry, ego driven, nut jobs that ends with NK backing down (arsenal intact) and Trump patting himself on the back for being "the Man", even though every president since the 50's has done the same thing without the need for gratification from the masses, that is.  As long as Trump listens to his military advisers, we're all safer.  As a person, he is no more qualified to handle NK than you or me.  He's a business man, hopefully not a war monger, though I know that's always been the easiest way for Republicans to make money.  As always, just my opinion Breitbart readers.

In 1999, Trump wanted to 'negotiate like crazy' to stop North Korea

Michael Walsh
Reporter
Yahoo NewsAugust 9, 2017

Back in 1999, Donald Trump said if he were president he would negotiate with North Korea but would ultimately be willing to launch a preemptive strike against the country to stop it from developing nuclear weapons.

“First I’d negotiate,” Trump told the late journalist Tim Russert on “Meet the Press.”

“I’d negotiate like crazy and I’d make sure that we tried to get the best deal possible,” he continued.

The celebrity real estate magnate made the comments after announcing plans to form an exploratory committee to run for president in 2000 under the Reform Party banner. He didn’t ultimately campaign for the third party’s nomination.

In the 1999 interview, Trump suggested that by 2004, North Korea would likely have nuclear weapons pointed all over the world but especially at the U.S. He said nuclear proliferation is a bigger problem than other issues that typically get our attention, like the economy or Social Security.

“The biggest problem this country has is nuclear proliferation. And we have a country out there, North Korea, which is sort of whacko, which is not a bunch of dummies, and they are going out and they are developing nuclear weapons. And they’re not doing it because they’re having fun doing it. They’re doing it for a reason.”

Trump said he’d be open to a nuclear first strike if negotiations were to fall through and that the problem ought to be solved before North Korea has “warheads all over the place.”

Trump’s comments about North Korea, and tensions with Pyongyang, have escalated sharply since that old interview. The country’s Stalinist regime has changed heads, and current Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un has startled the world with tests of nuclear and ICBM programs.

In January 2016, during the Republican presidential primary, Trump said Kim deserves some credit for running his country despite being “like a maniac.”

“If you look at North Korea, this guy, I mean, he’s like a maniac, OK? And you’ve got to give him credit. How many young guys — he was like 26 or 25 when his father died — take over these tough generals?” Trump said.

According to Trump, the manner in which Kim pushed aside generals and even “wiped out” his own uncle prove that his threats of violence should not be taken lightly.

“It’s incredible. He wiped out the uncle. He wiped out this one, that one,” he said. “I mean, this guy doesn’t play games. And we can’t play games with him. Because he really does have missiles. And he really does have nukes.”

This week, reports indicated that North Korea may have developed its military goal: a miniaturized nuclear warhead that could be attached to intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Trump delivered a severe warning in response Tuesday. Speaking at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., Trump said the totalitarian state would face “fire and fury” if it continued to threaten the U.S.

“North Korea [had] best not make any more threats to the United States,” Trump said. “They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.”

This statement prompted North Korea to say that it has been weighing the possibility of firing missiles at Guam, a U.S. territory in the western Pacific Ocean.

On Wednesday morning, Trump boasted that his first order of business as president was to modernize and renovate the United States’ nuclear capabilities. He tweeted that the American nuclear arsenal is “far stronger and more powerful” under his administration than it had ever been before, but he hopes “we will never have to use” it.

This is not the first time a sitting U.S. president made stern warnings to North Korea amid concerns that it was trying to develop nuclear weapons.

During a July 1993 visit to the Korean Demilitarized Zone, commonly called the DMZ, then-President Bill Clinton implied that North Korea would be annihilated if it was to use nuclear weapons.

“It is pointless for them to try to develop nuclear weapons because if they ever use them it would be the end of their country,” Clinton said.

Yes he thought negotiation was the proper method. He is after all The Master of The Deal... I'm sure he thought then and still believes it can be dealt with. Even the most staunch Trump supporter has to agree anyone who want nuclear war is insane. I know Trump doesn't want to nuke anyone, but threats are just that threats. We are not going to nuke NK... That little jerk is looking for attention and we are giving it to him... That's all he wants. To get into a back and forth of threats is bad policy. Donald knew it then and he knows it now. He just needs to take attention off his problems in Washington...

Since Barack Obama has been in the White House, high ranking military officers have been removed from their positions at a rate that is absolutely unprecedented. Things have gotten so bad that a number of retired generals are publicly speaking out about the ‘purge’ of the U.S. military that they believe is taking place.

As you will see below, dozens of highly decorated military leaders have been dismissed from their positions over the past few years. So why is this happening?

What is going on right now is absolutely crazy, especially during a time of peace. Is there a deliberate attempt to reshape the military and remove those who don’t adhere to the proper ‘viewpoints’? Does someone out there feel a need to get officers that won’t cooperate out of the way?

Throughout world history, whatever comes next after a military purge is never good.
If this continues, what is the U.S. military going to look like in a few years?

Perhaps you are reading this and you think that ‘purge’ is too strong a word for what is taking place. Well, just consider the following quotes from some very highly decorated retired officers:

Retired Army Major General Paul Vallely: The White House protects their own. That’s why they stalled on the investigation into fast and furious, Benghazi and Obamacare.  Obama’s intentionally weakening and gutting our military, Pentagon and reducing us as a superpower, and anyone in the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged.

Retired Army Major General Patrick Brady: There is no doubt he (Obama) is intent on emasculating the military and will fire anyone who disagrees with him.

Retired Army Lt. General William G. Jerry BoykinOver the past three years, it is unprecedented for the number of four-star generals to be relieved of duty, and not necessarily relieved for cause.

– Retired Navy Captain Joseph John: I believe there are more than 137 officers who have been forced out or given bad evaluation reports so they will never make Flag (officer) because of their failure to comply to certain views.

A Pentagon official who asked to remain nameless because they were not authorized to speak on the matter said even young officers, down through the ranks, have been told not to talk about Obama or the politics of the White House.  They are purging everyone and, if you want to keep your job, just keep your mouth shut. Now, this trend appears to be accelerating.

We Don’t Worry About North Korea: There’s one POWERFUL reason!

By Chad Prather  August 14, 2017

e1991b57a78bcf0b4deccec493048f3d.jpg

Because we have Chuck Norris! Since 2005 the internet has been steadily filling up with his list of astounding accomplishments.

IMG_2663-238x300.jpg

There’s nothing Chuck Norris can’t do. He…can hear sign language, regularly makes onions cry, can build a snowman out of rain, and uses hot sauce as eye drops. Chuck Norris has a diary. It’s called the Guinness Book of World Records. They say whenever Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone he already had three missed calls from Chuck Norris.

You may be surprised to learn that Chuck has a challenger that just might show him up. According to DailyWire, “the North Korean regime has their very own “fact” book, detailing the absolute greatness of “Dear Leaders” come and gone. Finally, it appears the man who killed two stones with one bird has a verifiable rival in the dictators of North Korea!”

Here are the “facts” they compiled:

ROUND 1

According to Ranker, North Koreans believe Kim Jong-un was able to drive at three years old. Children are taught this in school, where Kim’s prodigious childhood is a part of the curriculum.

Here in the U.S. on the other hand, it’s well known that Chuck Norris drove his mother home from the hospital following his own birth.

POINTS: North Korea: 0 – Chuck Norris: 1

IMG_2664.jpg

ROUND 2

Dear Leader Kim Jong Il made 11 holes-in-one during the first round of golf he ever played. According to The Telegraph, he then immediately retired from the sport. Kim also claims to have once bowled a perfect score of 300, an impressive feat for an amateur bowler.

The games Chuck Norris plays are significantly more intense. For example, he once played Russian Roulette with a fully-loaded revolver … and won.

As for bowling? Chuck also bowled a perfect game, but with a marble.

POINTS: North Korea: 0 – Chuck Norris: 2

ROUND 3

The Citizen reports that, according to his official biography, Kim Jong Il was born on a mountain top under a brilliant double rainbow.

What the publication leaves out is that Chuck Norris was riding a unicorn over the same double rainbow at the time of Kim’s birth.

POINTS: North Korea: 0 – Chuck Norris: 3

IMG_2665-300x150.jpg

ROUND 4

Kim Jong Il created the hamburger, according to North Korean publication Minju Joson. I’d like to give major kudos to the former dictator for introducing such a great food item to the world.

More impressively though, Chuck Norris once picked an orange from an apple tree and and made the best tasting lemonade of all time.

POINTS: North Korea: 0 – Chuck Norris: 4

ROUND 5

According to MSN, the North Korean people don’t believe that Kim Jong Il ever pooped. His body was so highly efficient and perfect (little pot belly and all) that nothing he consumed was ever wasted.

It’s never been claimed that Chuck Norris doesn’t defecate (as far as I know), but what I can tell you, is that he never flushes the toilet … He just scares the s**t out of it.

POINTS: North Korea: 0 – Chuck Norris: 5

Chuck Norris once again comes out on top by unanimous decision! We may be on the brink of nuclear winter (although I think it unlikely), but if worst comes to worst, perhaps we can rely on the national treasure, that is Chuck Norris, to protect us from the worldwide forces of evil. He is, after all, the only man alive who can kick you in the back of the face.
