Bahr al-Ulum stresses the need to operate Iraq-Saudi oil carrier line to ensure export flexibility

 Baghdad / Range

The visit of the Iraqi oil minister to Saudi Arabia recently did not include in its agenda talk about the pipeline conveying Iraqi oil through Saudi Arabia or the geological structures extended between the two sides, at a time when many of the oil specialists relied on the positive political atmosphere encouraging between the parties to talk about these files explicitly, The member of the parliamentary energy committee and former oil minister Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum wished that, stressing that the issue is not begging as some believe, as much as it is a reflection of political relations and common interests between Iraq and neighboring countries and each party rights and duties, Saudi Arabia is an Iraqi line with Iraqi funds were transferred by Saudi Arabia to domestic uses without legal justification. The most important topics discussed in the bilateral meetings held in the Saudi capital are oil market developments, coordination and joint efforts to achieve the goals agreed at the OPEC meetings, try to rebalance the world oil market and support oil prices, as well as discuss joint cooperation in sectors "Oil, gas, investment, partnership, joint projects, training, infrastructure, joint committees, future plans, etc." Member of the parliamentary energy committee Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum said in an interview with (Al-Mada), we wished the Iraqi delegation to the Ministry of Oil, To Saudi Arabia and the Saudi side to discuss how to reopen the oil pipeline across Saudi Arabia as an Iraqi demand, adding: We have tried over the past decade and still push for activating this line for many considerations. The first is that Iraq's strategy is to multiply the ports of export of Iraqi oil and not to rely solely on the Gulf. On the other hand, opening this line is an Iraqi right and should be activated and used if the political will of the parties . But the sea of science: Yes, during the last period, political pressure on Saudi Arabia and we see now the atmosphere is positive and must be invested by Iraq, and it has to deepen the relationship with neighboring countries through the use of oil as a positive individual in the overall common interests and one of the most important of these words is the carrier line For crude oil through Saudi Arabia ?, so we hope that this subject is subject to discussion and discuss with the Saudi and Iraqi sides and we hope that there will be a Saudi response to the Iraqi request. He believes: The issue is not begging, as some believe, as much as it is a reflection of the political relations and common interests between Iraq and the neighboring countries. Here, each party has rights and duties. Therefore, the crude oil pipeline through Saudi Arabia is an Iraqi line with Iraqi funds. It has been diverted by Saudi Arabia to domestic uses. But we are counting on political intentions and we emphasize that if there is a possibility for the Iraqi and Saudi sides, many common issues between the two countries can be activated, whether in relation to the carrier line or the geological structures located between their borders. The Sea of Science in conclusion of his speech to: That Iraq currently has a vision to manage its oil affairs, including the establishment of a pipeline to Jordan on the other hand if the future security and environmental conditions in Mosul will be rehabilitated there will be rehabilitation of the pipeline oil through Turkey, so all Iraq's export lines of crude oil must be used to export Its oil, the more it is in a multi-faceted export location and serves economic relations, the more flexibility it opens to export its oil. The oil pipeline through the Kingdom to the Red Sea was established with Iraqi funds from the Iraqi oil sources to the ports of Yanbu Saudi Arabia on the Red Sea. In addition to the establishment of giant tanks on the port, it is also returning to Iraq according to the arrival of the payment of construction amounts. Before the line stopped during the invasion of Saddam Hussein's former regime of Kuwait by a Saudi decision, while the Iraqi pipeline in Saudi Arabia has not transferred Iraqi oil since Saddam invaded Kuwait in 1990.
