Iraqi parliament reveals new details of smuggling of weapons and oil to Iran today

The deputy of the Diyala province Raad al-Dahlaki, on Sunday, presented detailed reports including "theft of weapons and oil" and smuggling to Iran.

Al-Dahlaki told Baghdad today that "armed groups are smuggling oil and weapons through Mandali port to the province of Iran," noting that "these operations have increased during the current period."

He added that "the federal government learned to steal the wealth of the country after we provide detailed reports on those operations," explaining that "the government did not respond to our reports in this regard."

"Stopping the theft of Iraq's wealth requires the political will to deter those militants who are exploiting their positions to smuggle oil and weapons into Iran," he said.

The sources said earlier (Baghdad today), "The security authorities are smuggling the weapons of America and the Czech advanced Iraq to Iran, and replaced with Iranian weapons."

"These weapons, once they arrive in Iran, will be replaced with light and medium-sized Iranian-made weapons," he said, adding that they were "less quality and sophisticated than US weapons."

"The United States has told the Iraqi government of its displeasure with such practices and has decided to stop many shipments of arms to Iraq," he said.
