Economy News Baghdad:

A parliamentary source said on Friday that the parliament is moving to ratify the agreement on encouragement and mutual protection of investments between Iraq and Iran.

The source, who preferred not to be named, told "Economy News" that "the Parliament is moving to approve the agreement of encouragement and mutual protection of investments between Iraq and Iran in order to benefit from economic resources and investment."

He added that "the Iraqi government signed the agreement with Iran and is being studied by the Committee on Economy Parliamentary," adding that "the agreement aims to strengthen economic and investment cooperation with Iran."

On Tuesday, May 2, 2015, the Council of Ministers voted on the draft law for the ratification of the Mutual Encouragement and Protection of Investments between Iraq and Iran.
