I'm thinking Maliki got booted out booty first. If Abadi said I'm out if he stays in, I'm thinking no one would even argue who would be leaving. With each monumental push of Abadi to clean up after Maliki's "Bull in a china cabinet" stint as PM....well...they would be crazy to say Maliki stays...

jcfrag
The sensible definitely seem to be in control, every since Maliki was ousted abruptly in 2014 and Abadi was put there in his place. True, it has been one massively huge chore left before the new PM to clean up that mess. He has relentlessly trekked the uphill journey to get his country where it is today, on the threshold of "glory" the likes of which this world has not witnessed. They will be greater then the Hussain years as now they play in a much larger arena. It is a different culture, but they want the same things as the rest of the great nations in our world today, recognition, respect, power, and money!!!!

Shelley
I wonder if this means Maliki will jump on in to another party .... new york kevin
Could al-Abadi be a wise predator. Quietly positioning all his pieces. Frustrated with setbacks in other stages/places. All the while adapting to the new currents like water. Seemingly looking the fool. Until the right moment came along and he could show the world that he has a brain, a backbone, and a really big pair. The war against ISIS going well. Roads, electronic banking et al new up and running. 250 plus crooked politicians having warrants sworn out for their arrest. Now was and is a good time to move on Maliki politically within the party to further isolate him and his cronies. Next Maliki gets a set of golden hand cuffs as he gets cuffed by Abadi himself. Locate where he has all those assets he stole from the GOI AND THE Iraqi people. Ps. Would any other party think he would be a good member of their party? More likely very negative set of political baggage at this point . Edited June 12, 2017 by new york kevin
