Return 90 percent of the displaced people left Mosul to their areas liberated

ISIS continue committing atrocities

 

ISIS terrorists have blown up a booby-trapped tanker, destroying many residential areas with their residents languishing inside, eyewitnesses told the Baghdad Post Saturday.

They added the terror group executes everyone who attempts to flee Mosul, revealing over 40 local residents were executed over the past three days for this reason.

The terror group is locking up about six families inside booby-trapped houses, the witnesses further noted.

Furthermore, they said the terror group 'parks booby-trapped cars inside homes of Mosul civilians to prevent them from fleeing the war-torn areas ruled by ironclad extremism.

This comes as the Iraqi forces are battling the terror group in the right bank since February 19th with the aid of the US-led coalition.

Iraqi forces purge Aiqtisadiiyn, 17 Tamuz neighborhoods from terrorists

Mosul Battle continues as ISIS collapsing

 

Federal police units have completed the push to completely liberate the neighborhoods of Aiqtisadiiyn, and 17th of Tamuz, a source said Saturday.

Units of the Federal Police completed the liberation of Aiqtisadiiyn and 17th of Tamuz neighborhoods, commander of the units Raid Shaker Jawdat said in a statement.

He added the forces completed purging the area from the terrorists and erected barricades and checkpoints to the direction of al-Najar and al-Shifaa neighborhoods in the right bank of Mosul.

Over 166 terrorists have been killed and 13 vehicles used by the terrorists to mount attacks destroyed, he further noted.

These efforts come as part of an offensive launched on 19th of February by US-backed Iraqi forces supported by Iranian-backed sectarian IMIS Shiite militias to oust ISIS terrorists from Mosul, their last major stronghold in Iraq

Mosul Battle

 

An updated version of Mosul map showing the latest developments in the battle to recapture ISIS-held areas in right bank of Mosul, has been obtained by The Baghdad Post on Saturday.

On the map, the spots marked in green represent the previously ISIS-held areas that have been liberated.  

As the map shows, the white spots represent the parts of the war-torn city where ISIS is still controlling.

In Mosul, there are areas still witnessing clashes between the Iraqi forces, backed by international coalition, and ISIS terrorists. They are marked in orange on the map.



On Friday, counter-terrorism forces regained from ISIS terrorist group Al Wershan cemetery in the right bank of Mosul city in Nineveh governorate. 

Yet on Friday , "We Are Coming, Nineveh" operations commander Gen. Abd al-Amir Rashid Yarallah said Iraqi army's 9th Armored Division recaptured the northern area of 17 Tamouz district in the right bank of Mosul in Nineveh governorate. 

Federal police units have completed on Saturday the push to completely liberate the neighborhoods of Aiqtisadiiyn, and 17th of Tamuz and purge them from the terrorists.

In a statement, the Center said it renews its commitment to neutrality when covering stories of the battles and the other issues. Our aim is nothing but the truth, the statement concluded. 

Publishing the maps relating to the progress of the Iraqi forces in Mosul is done after contacts with multiple military sources and local officials, it added.

Iraqi Forces launched a major offensive on 19th of February to retake the western part of Mosul after declaring total control of the eastern part of the city on 24th of January as part of the military operations to liberate the city that started on 17th of October 2016.

I may be wrong but I suspect the maps are not updated to current progress by the IDF, etc. For example, the 17July District (an ISIS stronghold) was reported as taken earlier but the map shows portions of 17July still under ISIS control and other areas of conflict.

 

Tomorrow morning should bring further progress if maps are still being published. With the objective(s) in Mosul having been announced as complete, the maps may no longer be published in the media or on twitter.

 

On another note, there are conflicting reports on deals President Trump has signed with the Saudis. Looks like 1/4 to 1/3 trillion USD. Hmmmm................ I thought Iraq was going to be the next economic boon for the US? Mayb still is! The Saudis may want to/need to have a piece of the action to make the next stop in Iraq for President Trump really, really big! Woo Hoo!!!
