Talent International is set to finance with Chan, Hans Canosa, Esmond Ren and Joe Tam producing.

IS Mass Grave Found Near Mosul

ISTANBUL — A grave containing multiple human corpses was discovered on Monday in an area recently recaptured from Islamic State (IS) militants in northern Iraq.

Iraqi Army’s Counter-Terrorism Service forces discovered the grave contained bodies of 20 IS Hisbah (vigilantees) at the al-Haramat neighborhood located in western Mosul, Iraqi Army Colonel Mortada Hassan told BasNews. The bodies have been transported to the forensic authority department, Hassan noted.

This is one of multiple mass graves of both civilians and militants found after recapturing the IS-held areas.

According to the anti-IS coalition officials, there are approximately 1000 IS militants in western Mosul.

The operation to retake Mosul began in October of the previous year. Three months after the operation's launch eastern half of the city was declared liberated. The Iraqi forces in conjunction with the US-led coalition are currently battling to take control of the Old City neighborhood in western Mosul.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 A.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIL) is in serious trouble inside their de-facto Iraqi capital, as the government forces close-in on the terrorist group’s last positions in Mosul City.

On Sunday, the Iraqi Armed Forces managed to capture the Rifa’i and Aribi districts after a short battle with the depleted Islamic State militants inside western Mosul.

With the Rifa’i and Aribi districts captured, the Iraqi Armed Forces are now in control of more than 90 percent of western Mosul, leaving the Islamic State on their last legs inside the provincial capital.

In the coming days, the Iraqi Armed Forces are expected to capture the remaining districts under the Islamic State’s control and put an end to the terrorist group’s presence inside the city.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:15 P.M.) – The Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) captured the large hilltop of Tal Al-Sheikh near the Al-Qaiwaran area in the Nineveh Governorate, the PMU’s official media wing reported this morning.

With Al-Qaiwaran captured, the Popular Mobilization Units will now push further east towards the Al-Qaiwaran area, as they look to expel the Islamic State (ISIL) terror organization from Tal ‘Afar.

Tal ‘Afar is one of the Islamic State’s final strongholds in Iraq; it was one of the first towns to fall to the terrorist group in the Summer of 2014.

Iraqi troops liberate 20 villages from ISIS in blitz offensive along the Mosul supply line  (This is news from 13 May but wanted to share due to the large offensive currently ongoing)

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:10 P.M.) – Over the past 24 hours, the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) have captured some 20 villages in the Al-Qayrawan desert region southwest of Mosul.

Among the confirmed liberated villages were Um Hajara, Mugheira Al-Abid, Khanisy, Tall Banat, Khilo, Tall Azoo, Tall Haat, Mohammed Zaid, Hazil, Hayat, Tall Hasaynat, Mahdi Maha, Sadkhan, Sabyia Haroosh, Abu Lahaf, Tall Hacham, Um Shbabeet and around a dozen hamlets in Nineveh province.

Effectively, the former ISIS-held road between Al-Qayrawan and Sinjar has been brought under PMU control, a move which serves to safeguard the narrow Mosul supply line that has been targeted repeatedly by ISIS raids on both flanks.

Now, the PMU are on the outskirts of Al-Qayrawan city itself, a jihadist bastion under Islamic State control since 2014. The battle for this stronghold is expected to begin later today.

Amid aerial sorties over Al-Qayrawan, an Iraqi chopper was damaged by ISIS anti-aircraft fire this afternoon but managed to return safely with no injures to its pilots.

Furthermore, the predominately Shi’ite PMU are moving ever closer to the border with Syria. Damascus has also welcomed potential PMU operations in Deir Ezzor, an Islamic State hotbed.
