tigergorzow
Nineveh Arab Tribes to Maliki: We Will Turn Kurdistan into a Grave for You Nineveh Arab tribes firmly responded to Maliki’s statements against Kurdistan Basnews English 31/05/2017 - 16:14 Iraq ERBIL — Nineveh Arab Tribes firmly responded to Iraqi former PM Nouri al-Maliki’s latest statements against Kurdistan Region and its President Masoud Barzani, stating they will turn Kurdistan into a “grave” for Maliki and anyone who will attempt to approach it. The spokesperson for the Nineveh Arab tribes Sheikh Muzahim al-Hwet said that Maliki will face the destiny of the Islamic State (IS) if he approaches the Kurdistan Region borders. Nineveh Arab Tribal forces, hand in hand with the Peshmerga forces and with the leadership of President Masoud Barzani, will turn Kurdistan into a grave for Maliki and for anyone who tries to approach the Kurdish territories, the statement reads. Maliki has to remember the fate of Mosul and the other provinces he handed over to IS which resulted in the loss of thousands of innocent lives. "Maliki has to choose his statements carefully," said the spokesperson for the Nineveh tribes, stressing that “Maliki will face the same fate of the IS if he tries to get closer to the borders of Kurdistan," describing his threats against Kurdistan region as "childish." In an interview with Beirut-based al-Akhbari paper on Tuesday, Maliki stated that Barzani is intending to establish the Great Kurdistan state and that he must be stopped by “force if needed.” He also showed his utmost objection to Kurdistan Region’s independence and the anticipated referendum. Kurdistan Region Presidency’s spokesperson also responded to Maliki’s remarks, saying "Maliki is used to his hostile manners and aggressive stance against Kurdistan Region, wondering how a person like Maliki who became a plague to Iraq, the source of catastrophes and the growth of terrorism, is not ashamed of talking or even appearing in public! "A person like him [Maliki] who ruined Iraq should better terminate his life," he said, blaming him of causing widespread sectarianism, corruption and money-laundry trends in the country. http://www.basnews.com/index.php/en/news/iraq/354412
