blueskyline Posted May 26, 2017 Report Share Posted May 26, 2017 100 BILLION DOLLARS NEEDED TO REBUILD IRAQ'S DESTROYED CITIES Short Link 5/26/2017 12:00:25 PM It is estimated that Iraq needs 100 billion dollars to rebuild its destroyed cities after a long devastating war against ISIS, Minister of Planning Salman al-Jumaili said on Friday. Joint forces supported by IMIS military operations have left many Iraqi cities to ruins and destroyed infrastructure. Devastation in some of these cities has reached 80 percent of them where they need over 100 billion dollars to rebuild, al-Jumaili added. In a press statement, he said that rebuilding and bringing stability to these areas will be done in the next 10 years via two development plans. The government seeks to provide 100 billion dollars needed to rebuild the country by grants, international loans and state budget allocations. A conference for world donors will be held to raise money to rebuild the war-torn areas and upgrade its infrastructure and economy, she added.
