The visit comes two days after the Riyadh summit hosted by Saudi Arabia after, and was attended by US President, and focused its agenda on the face of Iran 's influence in the region.

The Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al - Jubeir visited Baghdad, on 25 February, bringing with him a deal in exchange for normalization of relations with Baghdad.
Sources close to the Prime Minister's (range), then, that al - Jubeir presented to the Abadi , a list of demands from the Saudi monarch carry. These demands were focused on taking into account the balance in state institutions, and the granting of full rights to the Sunni component. It also includes the demands of the "Saudi Marshall" for the reconstruction of the Sunni provinces exclusively, in addition to the belt west of the capital. But Saudi Arabia 's supply collided with an Iraqi reservation.
Furthermore, culminating in secret negotiations conducted by Iraqi and Qatari delegations visiting Qatari Foreign Minister Hamad bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani to Baghdad. During which the agreement on the re - opening of the Qatari Embassy.
And I saw the Iraqi - Saudi relations, a breakthrough after the inauguration of Abadi , head of government in conjunction with formation of the international coalition led by the United States to fight Daesh. Washington exercised pressure on Riyadh to open up to Baghdad. These efforts culminated in Iraq 's invitation to participate in a conference held in Jeddah in 2014, for the war on terrorism to coordinate the efforts.

Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Faleh has focused on restarting production on the oil pipeline connecting Iraqi oil facilities, located south of the country, with the Saudi terminal of Yanbu' during a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, a source said on Wednesday.

The source, who asked to remain anonymous, stated that Saudi Arabia requires the Iraqi government to restrict its relation with Iran and dissolve the its militias to restart production on the oil pipeline.

However, the source confirmed that it is difficult for the Iraqi government to meet these requirements.

Iraq's commitment to meeting Saudi Arabia's requirements should be in return for investments of Gulf companies in the local market, the source pointed out.

The source also noted that al-Faleh's visit to Baghdad and meeting with al-Abadi is not sudden, adding that it came after intensive contacts between the Iraqi government and the Saudi side.

Iraqi delegations' secret visits to Riyadh have discussed bolstering relations through expanding diplomatic missions as well as economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, the source revealed.
