Iraqi Parliament speaker Salim al-Jabouri threatened on Thursday to expel absent MPs who claim to be fighting in the ranks of the militias.

The MPs who missed the meeting have been seen recently outside of Iraq, as asserted by several sources.

In a statement al-Jabouri said that the parliament issued a law that doesn't punish absent MPs as long as they claim to be from IMIS militias.

The speaker stressed that he urged to abolish that law, asserting that he will bring up this case in the next parliamentary session especially after seeing several of these members outside of Iraq.

Some of these lawmakers have written testimonies that prove they are engaged with IMIS militias, according to al-Jabouri.
