4-13-2017   Newshound Guru Kaperoni   Article:  "UNDP to Implement E-Tendering system in Iraq"  Quote:  "The UN Development Programme (UNDP)’s Iraq Country Office has announced that, starting 1st May 2017, all procurement processes will be conducted using an online E-Tendering system (Electronic Tendering Platform)."   Good to see.  More electronic, less corruption.

UNDP’s Iraq Country Office is pleased to inform all potential Construction Firms/Companies that starting 01 May 2017, all procurement processes will be conducted using an online E-Tendering system (Electronic Tendering Platform).

The initiative of E-Tendering will allow UNDP to further improve transparency and efficiency in the procurement process and will help to reduce the time needed to award contracts to the successful bidders.

In the first phase, the training session will be conducted in Erbil and Baghdad. Trainings are ONLY for Construction Companies/Firms.

Potential Construction Companies/Firms in Erbil and surrounding areas and Baghdad-based construction Companies/Firms are requested to send names of two focal persons (Owner & Engineer) to the UNDP Focal Person listed below to obtain security clearance as per the following details:

Baghdad / Sabah
The Iraqi Contractors Union organized a training course for a number of private sector companies on the standard documents for tenders (preparing bids for contractors according to international regulations).
Chairman of the Iraqi Contractors Union Ali Snafi told Al Sabah the importance of this session by saying that it came with the aim of laying the foundations of legal and contractual culture to promote the best practices of economic growth and the development of the private sector.
He added that the policy of the Union will continue to hold similar courses later to the regions of the Euphrates in the middle and south of Basra, noting that these courses would enhance the contractual legal culture and increase the transparency of competition and work to develop the performance of the private sector and its role in economic development.
The course lasted for five days at the headquarters of the Federation. Graduation certificates were distributed to pass the course successfully to the participants by the Federation in the presence of the representative of USAID, Mr. Jeffrey. Flowers of Hussein Saleh.
He pointed out that the course was carried out with a distinguished effort of the Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation - General Directorate of Government Contracts and the General Federation of Iraqi Contractors in cooperation with the US Agency.
At the end of his speech, he expressed his appreciation to all lecturers from the supporting bodies, especially the distinguished efforts of Dr. Azhar Hussain Saleh Director General Government contracts and cadres of the Directorate of engineers participating in this session.

First, this is only for contractors of construction companies.

Second, where do I get my "participation trophy"?

Lastly, I want to get a job in a rock and roll band!
