hey sadr , we been there . done that ...  how was  that working for the people of Syria ?   {  although I voted for the losing team ,  I do support the  missile shots ,  make them believe we are not just on the side lines watching  ,  although  I would  surmise , that in the future we will see papers ,and intelligence articles where  the u.s.  did  bring this about in Syria ,  the arms too the wrong  ding-dongs in the sand ...  there were too many factions  trying too be first and  the political movement  went with what it had on  information with whom too give backing to ...  < ---- just my opinion here  }      but all in all ,  glad too see sadr is on the same page

Sadrist Movement leader, Sayye Moqtada al-Sadr has warned Syrian President Basgar al-Assad he would face the same fate of Libyan former president Moamar Qadhaffi in case he did not step down. 

Sadr added that Assad's toppling from power was a question related to the Syrian people. 

He further confirmed the Syrians' sufferings would end in case he resigned. 

Qaddafi was killed in bloody clashes between governmental forces and oppositions factions. 

Syria has been suffering a severe civil war since 2011. 

Millions of Syrians have been either killed, wounded or displaced.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:30 A.M.) – Popular Iraqi Shiite cleric, Muqtada Al-Sadr, called on Bashar Al-Assad to immediately step down from his position as Syrian President.

Sadr warned Assad through a statement released on Tuesday evening that if he does not step down, he will share the same fate as slain Libyan President Mu’ammar Al-Gaddafi.

The Iraqi cleric’s statement comes just 24 hours after he made a similar demand of the Syrian President.
