good day  folksters  ,   I have been just  leaning back as of late  and watching the news articles only , not so much  commenting , but  have too say  something  now ,  with this article  and the  one from yesterday , that the chapter 7  is  2 month away from being lifted  ... { if that article is true  and now  we are seeing  this one  with the H- C - L attached ,  sure puts  a nice spin on the  next  3  months ...

3 hours ago, DinarThug said:

that al-Abadi clings to the strategic patience to keep an atmosphere of understanding between the center and the region to gain a new achievement is to pass the oil and gas law to be presented to the Council of Ministers in preparation for sending it to the House of Representatives.

al-abadi  has his hands full with the  clans  trying too raise  hell , and  slow  the forward motion ,  { if  abadi  can get it too the house  and  hopefully  the house  can  get it  passed , but  this  is where a lot of the bills  fall apart  in  " the house "  }   but  a few days ago  , we saw the article  where   ---> malarkeys  group held a super secret meeting ,   the photo looked all cozy ,  ---  but  that  must have been the beginning of the meeting  ,  ---   maybe  the  heads  of the clan  got together and  has told  malarkey too back down  , and  disappear !   {  that would be  nice right about now }   if this part  rings out true , then  they might  just have  pulled that meeting together and too a vote  on  not causing any problems  with the passing of the H-C-L  this time around ,  and  let  the  future  of Iraq  ring  through  finally ...

As Chairman of the House of Representatives confirmed that the oil and gas law is still pending did not resolve, noting that the law is the backbone of the organization of the relationship between the center and the region and producing provinces.

as this  point of the article  seems too mention ...  some one  always throwing a  fit over parts  of the  law ...

I believe this meeting will finally after all these years be the turning point between the Kurdistan regional government, and the Central Government. Everything is finally falling into place, as we have long awaited. And I mean everything including their differences and disputes. It's looking very good. All of it!

The Kurds are hell bent on having their own state. Its all about oil and control of the money. The lust for power to rule and massive corruption is no stranger to their pedigree. These sham meetings with Baghdad  is only to play for time until all hell breaks loose between those two parties. Baghdad will be forced to settle with them having an independent  state in lieu of starting another war. Only time will tell as the goal to seize land also from Syria becomes a reality then the puzzle fits in as planned.

A Kurdistan region senior official confirmed on Wednesday the Kurdish flag would not be put down from above governmental buildings in Kirkuk province.

Adnan Mufti, member of political bureau of Patriotic Union Kurdistan Party, said in a joint press conference with Sadrist Movement Diyaa Assadi, "It is essential to reach a compromise with the central government and Kurdistan region under the umbrella of a unified nation".

"All Iraqi constituents have given sacrifices, the Constitution   federal in Iraq, and Kurdistan region has a special status," he added.

Mufti is one of a Kurdish delegation to Baghdad who met Iraqi President Fouad Masoum and Prime Minister Haider Abadi.

A crisis erupted in late March with the Kirkuk provincial council voting for raising the Kurdish flag above governmental buildings in the disputed area.

Twenty six members of the council voted for the move but 14 members representing Arab and Turkmen constituencies abstained.

The oil-rich province will make a new crisis for the war-torn Iraq, according to observers.

Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani said an imminent referendum on the independence of the province would be held.

PM Barzani: If Not for Peshmerga, IS Flag Would Have Been Raised in Kirkuk

ERBIL — Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani stated on Wednesday that the Islamic State (IS) organization needs to be eliminated politically; stressing that Peshmerga blocked the IS advance into Kirkuk.

Barzani made the comments during a commemoration ceremony for Shifa Gardi, a journalist from Rudaw media network, who lost her life 40 days ago in a bomb explosion while covering the news from Mosul.

"In 2014, when IS occupied Mosul, the situation in Kirkuk was much worse than Mosul [and] if it was not for Kurdistan Peshmerga, now instead of Kurdistan and Iraqi flags, the IS flag would have been raised in Kirkuk," said Barzani.

Regarding the elimination of IS, Kurdistan PM stressed that if a political solution for the elimination of the Islamic jihadists in Iraq is not found, the IS organization will recur under a different name and shape.

Barzani added that the advances by IS halted the economic development and prosperity in the Kurdistan Region "because defending is not so easy; it costs too much."

He also referred to the sacrifices made by the Peshmerga forces, saying that 1,700 Peshmerga members were martyred and almost 10,000 wounded in the battle against IS.

Iraqi Officials Unanimous Over Kurdistan Independence Referendum: Official

ERBIL — Kurdistan Region's political delegation visited Baghdad where they met a number of Iraqi officials including Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri who unanimously agreed that Kurdistan has the right to hold independence referendum, said an official.

A joint delegation from the dominant parties in the Kurdistan Region, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) on Wednesday met with the Iraqi President Fuad Massum and Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri.

In a press conference after the meetings, Fazil Mirani, KDP politburo secretary, said the delegation and Jabouri shared the same view that the referendum is the right of any nation.

"This does not mean that immediately after the referendum Kurdistan will declare independence, [rather] Kurdistan holds a referendum to figure out the opinion of its people," said Mirani.

In addition to Mirani, the delegation to Baghdad includes Fuad Hussein, chief of staff of Kurdistan Region presidency, and Adnan Mufti, a PUK politburo member.

Another topic that the delegation discussed with Jabouri was the Iraqi parliament's decision for taking down the Kurdistan flag from the state buildings in Kirkuk.

The decision was later temporarily frozen due to Kurdish MPs boycott of parliamentary sessions, though Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi informally called on Kirkuk Provincial Council to revoke their recent ruling for raising the flag.

Mirani told reporters that they also brought to the table the flag dispute.

"We listened to Jobouri to hear his viewpoint and spoke about some issues leading to this decision," Mirani said "We demanded that we carry on with the talks [over the flag dispute]."

Speaking to BasNews, the Kurdish MP Islam Hussein said the Kurdish delegation will also meet with the Shi'ite Sadr Movement Leader Muqtada al-Sadr on Wednesday afternoon.

In the meeting with Sadr as well as the following meetings with Iraqi PM Haidar al-Abadi and Shi'ite National Alliance Leader Ammar al-Hakim, the independence referendum for Kurdistan and flag dispute will be discussed, according to Hussein.

And caused all these economic, political and social setbacks that are still going on. "
"The people of Kurdistan are convinced that those who control the oil file in the region without any trace of their imports and deprive the people of their salaries are not ready to discuss the fateful issues of the Kurdish people.
