Barzani Meets with Ambassadors in Erbil
 

ERBIL — On the occasion of the Kurdish New Year, Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani received foreign envoys in Erbil to celebrate Nawroz together.

Ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of 35 countries were present at the gathering.

Briefing the gusts on the historical roots of Nawroz, Head of Kurdistan Region’s Department of Foreign Relations, Falah Mustafa, reminded that Kurds have the right of self determination. He also thanked the “friendly countries” for their support to the Kurdistan Region in the war on terrorism.

The guests highlighted Barzani’s role the Peshmerga war against Islamic State (IS), and promised their countries’ continued assistance to the Kurdish forces. They also expressed their willingness to further expand bilateral ties in the areas of potential cooperation.
