B/A

So if that is fear Mongering  and hopes that the Average American doesn't fall for it.....B/A, how many Refugees have you signed up to take in and make Welcome in your Neighborhood? 4-6 in your basement and a few more with your daughter and her new husband....Surely your mom and dad will take a few.

I guess that ended that line of Fear Mongering as the answer is Hell no, don't want them in his house. That is the liberals way of thinking...Everything is great somewhere else but I don't want them here.

Probably no one wants to respond because they do not want to be called racist. Protesters want to stop the travel ban but do not want to sponsor them. They also do not want a wall built but they have them in their yard and their home.

By the way there are laws against people migrating to the US without integration into our society. Also they are not compatible with our culture. That makes this an invasion and there is a law against this and hopefully president Trump will uphold it.

The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 (Pub.L. 82–414, 66 Stat. 163, enacted June 27, 1952), also known as the McCarran–Walter Act, restricted immigration into the U.S. and is codified under Title 8 of the United States Code (8 U.S.C. ch. 12). The Act governs primarily immigration to and citizenship in the United States. It has been in effect since June 27, 1952. Before this Act, a variety of statutes governed immigration law but were not organized within one body of text.

EnactmentEdit

H.R. 5678 was named after its sponsors, Senator Pat McCarran (D-Nevada), and Congressman Francis Walter (D-Pennsylvania).

President Harry Truman, a Democrat, vetoed the Act because he regarded the bill as "un-American" and discriminatory. His veto message said:[1][2][3]

Today, we are "protecting" ourselves as we were in 1924, against being flooded by immigrants from Eastern Europe. This is fantastic. ... We do not need to be protected against immigrants from these countries–on the contrary we want to stretch out a helping hand, to save those who have managed to flee into Western Europe, to succor those who are brave enough to escape from barbarism, to welcome and restore them against the day when their countries will, as we hope, be free again....These are only a few examples of the absurdity, the cruelty of carrying over into this year of 1952 the isolationist limitations of our 1924 law.

In no other realm of our national life are we so hampered and stultified by the dead hand of the past, as we are in this field of immigration.

Truman's veto was overridden by a vote of 278 to 113 in the House and 57 to 26 in the Senate.

Speaking in the Senate on March 2, 1953, McCarran said:[4]

I believe that this nation is the last hope of Western civilization and if this oasis of the world shall be overrun, perverted, contaminated or destroyed, then the last flickering light of humanity will be extinguished. I take no issue with those who would praise the contributions which have been made to our society by people of many races, of varied creeds and colors. ... However, we have in the United States today hard-core, indigestible blocs which have not become integrated into the American way of life, but which, on the contrary are its deadly enemies. Today, as never before, untold millions are storming our gates for admission and those gates are cracking under the strain. The solution of the problems of Europe and Asia will not come through a transplanting of those problems en masse to the United States. ... I do not intend to become prophetic, but if the enemies of this legislation succeed in riddling it to pieces, or in amending it beyond recognition, they will have contributed more to promote this nation's downfall than any other group since we achieved our independence as a nation.

ProvisionsEdit

The Act abolished racial restrictions found in United States immigration and naturalization statutes going back to the Naturalization Act of 1790. The 1952 Act retained a quota system for nationalities and regions. Eventually, the Act established a preference system which determined which ethnic groups were desirable immigrants and placed great importance on labor qualifications.

The Act defined three types of immigrants: immigrants with special skills or relatives of U.S. citizens who were exempt from quotas and who were to be admitted without restrictions; average immigrants whose numbers were not supposed to exceed 270,000 per year; and refugees.

The Act allowed the government to deport immigrants or naturalized citizens engaged in subversive activities and also allowed the barring of suspected subversives from entering the country. It was used to bar members and former members and "fellow travelers" of the Communist Party from entry into the United States, even those who had not been associated with the party for decades.

It expanded the definition of the "United States" for nationality purposes, which already included Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, to add Guam. Persons born in these territories on or after December 24, 1952 acquire U.S. citizenship at birth on the same terms as persons born in other parts of the United States.[5]

A 1962 guideline explained procedures under the Act:[6]

The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 requires an alien to apply for a petition for naturalization. This form may be obtained from any office of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, a division of the Department of Justice, or from any court authorized to naturalize aliens.

Before applying, an alien must be at least 18 years old and must have been lawfully admitted to live permanently in the United States. He must have lived in the United States for five years and for the last six months in the state where he seeks to be naturalized. In some cases, he need only have lived three years in the United States. He must be of good moral character and "attached to the principles of the Constitution". The law states that an alien is not of good moral character if he is a drunkard, has committed adultery, has more than one wife, makes his living by gambling, has lied to the Immigration and Naturalization Service, has been in jail more than 180 days for any reason during his five years in the United States, or is a convicted murderer.

EnforcementEdit

Among those excluded under the Act before it was amended in 1990 were:[7]

Kōbō Abe, Japanese writer

Tom Bottomore, British sociologist

Dennis Brutus, South African writer

Boris Christoff, Bulgarian opera singer

Julio Cortázar, Argentine novelist

Mahmoud Darwish, Palestinian poet

Michel Foucault, French philosopher

Dario Fo, Italian playwright and recipient of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Literature[8]

Carlos Fuentes, Mexican writer

Gabriel García Márquez, Colombian novelist and recipient of the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature

Graham Greene, British writer

Doris Lessing, writer and recipient of the 2007 Nobel Prize in Literature (Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) / Great Britain)

Ernest Mandel, scholar and Trotskyist activist[citation needed]

Farley Mowat, Canadian writer[9][10]

Jan Myrdal, Swedish scholar

Pablo Neruda, Chilean poet and recipient of the 1971 Nobel Prize in Literature

Carl Paivio, Finnish labor activist and anarchist[11]

Angel Rama, Uruguayan scholar

Margaret Randall, writer, translator, and activist

Pierre Trudeau, prior to becoming Prime Minister of Canada.[9][10]

It has not been substantiated that all of the aforementioned formally petitioned to become United State Citizens, although many were banned from travelling to the US because of anti-American political views and/or criminal records. Among those listed, there are noted communists, socialists, and anti-American sympathizers.

ModificationsEdit

Parts of the Act remain in place today, but it has been amended many times and was modified substantially by the Immigration and Nationality Services Act of 1965.

When regulations issued under the authority of the Passport Act of 1926 were challenged in Haig v. Agee, Congress enacted § 707(b) of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Year 1979 (Pub.L. 95–426, 92 Stat. 993, enacted October 7, 1978), amending § 215 of the Immigration and Nationality Act making it unlawful to travel abroad without a passport. Until that legislation, under the Travel Control Act of 1918, the president had the authority to require passports for foreign travel only in time of war.

Provisions that excluded certain classes of immigrants based on their political beliefs were revoked by the Immigration Act of 1990.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks, president George W. Bush implemented the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System and other border and immigration controls.

In January 2017, president Donald Trump's Executive Order 13769 made reference to the "Immigration and Nationality Act".[12]

I agree with the above and I am still waiting for B/A and the rest to say just how many Refugees they are will to take in, to house with their teen age Daughters, their Mothers or their extended liberal extended families.....I have a video somewhere  that on the street they were asking for Donations to help fund Refugees......No Way.

They also asked if they could maybe take a few in, spare bedroom, maybe the couch. Maybe just put them up, feed them and make them comfy....That was a big hell no from the liberals that were screaming to let them in.

Let them it is great as long as it is somewhere well away from their families and it doesn't cost them any time, money or the safety of their families.

So here is the deal.......Why ship them to a place they for one don't like, they don't speak the language, they don't like the food, they don't like the attire of the ladies....Why not just leave them there in a land they are used to.....Better yet let them go fight the good fight for their homes and their countries  rather than come here and expect us to conform while our your Men and Women are losing their lives to fight the battles they ran away from.

B/A, Shabs, and who ever........Where is the logic come from that liberals want them here but don't want them so close. Where is the logic that we want Refugees to be safe while sending Our Son's and Daughter's into Harms Way to protect a country They Fled?

Difference between many here and across the Nation is that many would  fight, they would stand up and protect a LEO in need, they would run to help that person trapped in a car on fire and the list could go on.

Where is B/A, Shabs and a few others going to be when their neighbors, their friends  and pals need help......Demanding, running around screaming  that someone else do the damn job and save them.

I will just reach out across the Aisle and say to many here that seam to be Butt Hurt that Hillarious lost, Trump won. Guess what I was distraught over obama winning but I dealt with it.

Get over it and either get back to work or figure out where you want to move to that will be better.

Your response shows how unsurprisingly short sighted you are.  The Country has just gone over a year enduring Obummers flood of unvetted “refugees” even though Obummers own Homeland Security said they could not verify the “refugees” identity and that ISIS had operatives posing as said “refugees”.  So rather than lay the blame where it belongs, now that Obummer is gone it is Trump’s problem to deal with.  When, not if but when, one of these “refugees” commits a terrorist attack will you blame Trump because it happened while he was President, or will you blame Obummer for opening the door to Perverted Islamic Terrorists?

My bet would be the former as you have already demonstrated your short sightedness by blaming W for “destroying the economy”, without being able to say what he actually did to destroy said economy, because he was President when multiple liberal policies simultaneously reached critical mass.  Rather than looking at what / who actually caused the problem, you are looking for a scapegoat to pay the price of yet another giant progressive failure.  I agree that this is now Trumps problem to deal with, but I will never forget who caused the problem in the first place.

You think you know everything about me because  I don't grovel like a mindless schlep at the feet of the Bonehead-in-Chief.  He continues to have knee jerk reactions to everything swirling around in cyber space that doesn't amount to a hill of beans with regards to moving this country forward.  He needs to focus.....leave the childish things to the children and be the President.  Every time he allows Twitterverse to get the best of him, he makes his supporters look like complete tools because he lies and dreams up outlandish allegations and they continue to enable him to do it.  I'm more of a supporter than any of you.....at least I hold him accountable.  Remember one thing Karsten.....this is the land of immigrants and neither you or anybody else can wish it away.  :salute:

When a terrorist attack larger than Oklahoma, you know Timothy McVeigh the local lunatic, or larger than 911 which is pretty clear was an inside job, happens by an immigrant who entered America during the Obama years actually does happen, you will have made your point. Until then we wait. As for ruining the economy, I only partly blame Bush the puppet of Chaney and Rumsfeld. Do you know Rumsfeld's history as CEO of the chemical company who created the Alzheimer drug Aspartame? I really blame Nixon for screwing up our economy back in the 70's. I know he didn't start it, but he did nothing to stop it. I guess he was too busy listening to his wiretaps.

As for the hate of Obama, I wish there was a way to read people's minds, because the root of hate for Obama is really that he is black. I know people never admit it, but it is true. Do you think if he was white we would be seeing the same reaction. I know you will say yes, but the truth is no. Some of my closest friends, even family members who have never been racist have turned out to be that way. I know you will not agree, but the truth is, by human nature people are racist.

As for anything being Trump's problem. It is. It comes with the job. Was it Obama's problem that Bush screwed the economy so badly? It was. Obama didn't create the problem but it was his to deal with.

Will the next president have to deal with whatever Trump screws up? Yup, again it come with the job. Right now Trump's biggest problem is his ego and his false perception that he is the biggest, the greatest, the smartest, the prettiest, or whatever else he believes about himself in his legendary mind. In fact this morning I saw an interview with two authors, one of which was the authorized biographer for Trump and has spent a lot of time with him, stated that Trump's world is make believe. Even Trump knows it, but that is part of the way he lives. The author (I apologize I don't remember his name) said Trump know he makes up falsehood and doesn't care. In his private life (not public) world, he is the ultimate ruler and the people around him either agree or they are gone. In The White House it will not work that way, and he is finding that out rather quickly.

I've already taken in my refugee... I have written about it many times. When are you going to stop preaching and start practicing? Oh one more thing...... You may suffer form comprehension issues. I have stated many times I'm not a liberal or conservative. I have voted for both sides of the aisle. I vote for people not the party. And yes, if Clinton had won, I would be pointing out her problems as well. I have never been a fan of her, Pelosi or many other Democrats. But that doesn't mean I'm a fan of crooks like McConnell, Byrd. or other extreme Republicans. I fact one of the biggest problems is these jerks have made a career out of their offices. Here is a great list of lifers.

I do not put a size requirement on terrorist acts so I have no clue what you are talking about.  Tell the families of the soldiers killed at Ft Hood that the PIT’s “workplace violence” does qualify as terrorism because it didn’t kill enough people.  Ditto for those victims in San Bernardino (who were killed by an immigrant who came in under the guise of being married rather than saying she radicalized her husband to commit jihad).  I would love to hear you try to explain to the victims loved ones that you do not consider it a problem because not enough innocent people were killed.  Since you made the point, how many people have to die before you consider it a problem?  I don’t need to read your mind to know what you really think, you just told me, I just want to know where it is you set the bar before you become concerned.

I wish you could read my mind, then you would see how wrong you are to call me a racist.  But I imagine even if you could, you would convince yourself I was just lying to myself and that would prove I am a racist in your mind.  Never mind the fact that I, and many others, have pointed to specific things Obummer has done that have hurt the Country that we disagree with, we’re all just racist.  I guess that’s easier for you than actually having to logically defend any of his positions or policies, since you never have.

Kind of like you still haven’t said what W did to destroy the economy.  You tried once, by incorrectly saying W deregulated the banks, but other than that it’s been crickets.  By your vapid logic, that would make you a racist for hating W.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not defending W, not a fan for a lot of reasons.  But in order to learn from mistakes the causes of said mistakes must be identified so as not to be repeated.  So give it a try not with platitudes, but with policies of what caused the housing market to collapse and start the snowball rolling.

And lastly, even though it was in your response to Karsten, I have to point out another blatant error in the long list of things you knew you were right about but could not be more wrong.  “….crooks like McConnell, Byrd, or other extreme Republicans.”  I have to point out that the last Grand Dragon of the KKK (founded by Democrats by the way) to serve in Congress was not another extreme Republican, Byrd was a lifelong Democrat.  Can you imagine that, you can’t swing a dead cat in WV without hitting a building or road named after Byrd the Democrat KKK Grand Dragon while anyone else in the history of the South deemed racist should have their names removed from buildings.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I make this post. I must first apologize to Shabbs for my last comment as it was uncalled for. However, I have something to say about the post by certain members here.Shabbs You and B/A and Umbertino have painfully displayed what we see each day in the media. There can be no middle ground between what is now become the extraordinary radical left and the extraordinary radical right add to that my bipolar disorder and manic depression disorder add personal issues in my life with this site and with demonic attacks against my family I have no longer the patience to be who I am. Therefore and letting you know now you can have this site and turn it into whatever Twitter sewer you wish to. I will only post on my Call to Arms thread and in the paid section of this site. Over the years I have noticed but there are some 48,000 members here. And very few of those members actually post. However most of them visit this site every day. Recently I realized why that is that they never post and that is why I have changed how and what I say. It is my belief that those members who do not post are actually intelligent educated and do not wish to get into Twitter sewer conversations. However they are interested in following what's happening in Iraq with reference to Iraqi dinar. and as far as the paid side of this site goes they are willing to learn about personal asset protection and future investment. I wish to thank all the members here that do Post because they have helped me to grow to be a better person. But it is time that I joined the majority ranks of those who only read and posted the paid side of this site.  this is not something that I have come to lightly. Actually,  it is something that I have pondered about for quite some time. And with the recent attacks in my personal life I simply don't have the energy to debate ignorance. B/A you wanted to quote me about being past hatred. What you failed to understand is when a person who refuses to hate is confronted with a person who only hates the one who refuses to hate leaves. I wish to show love period I wish to show compassion. But they can only be showed and given to those who are willing to receive. With that I bid you godspeed and farewell.:tiphat:

It's got absolutely nothing to do with the colour of his skin - if you really believe that, you're really deceiving yourself !!!  Every thing he did was for globalism - divide and conquer the populous ...

The fact Trump is trying to get the globalists out of American politics is the reason why Obummer and Clinton and the Bushes and Pelosi and Shumer and Watters and every other globalist elite-serving politician wants him out - they are so far up the globalists asses that they would sell your children to the Nazis if it put a penny in their pocket!!!

Yet Donald went to the Wall Street well to fill a good portion of his cabinet.....Come on, man!    The truth really shouldn't be that hard to admit.

I'll say it again... to you and others that propagate this... but NEVER come back to admit the TRUE premise.  Obama is not black.  We all know he is half white, so you could easily call him white.  If you want to say he appears black, so be it... but the race card is nullified... and everything you just stated above is proven false.  The only reason he is called black, is to get people like you to continue the divisive narrative.  Even if he was called white, Constitutionally-informed people would still object to his policies. So, please check your premises, be honest... and just stop with the shallow knee-jerk "observations".
