As many as 16 Arab kings and heads of state are participating in the summit which is chaired by King Abdullah II of Jordan.

Abadi: Hate speech, sectarianism ravage Iraq

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Wednesday said that Iraq was ravaged by sectarian militias and hate speech that led it to the current dire situation.

Addressing the 28th Arab League Summit, Abadi urged Arabs to support Iraq in countering sectarianism and terrorism.

Iraq is now unified like never before, he said, adding the ruling of the country will be shared among all Iraqi parties under the supervision of the constitutional organizations.

Abadi calls for unified position against violations of Iraq sovereignty

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Wednesday called on Arab countries to adopt a unified position towards violations committed against sovereignty of Iraq. 

As he addressed the Arab League meeting in its 28th session, he said:"I am strongly opposed to violating sovereignty of Iraq or any other country."

Abadi also stressed that terrorism, extremism and internal conflicts have led to deviating from the right path, stressing the need to preserve the unity of our peoples and preventing external interference.

Abadi discusses ways to facilitate Iraqis' entry to Jordan with King Abdullah

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi met on Wednesday with King of Jordan Abdullah II.

At the meeting, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, cooperation and security coordination, as well as facilitating the entry of Iraqis into Jordan.

The meeting also touched on efforts exerted to fight terrorism. And the Jordanian monarch declared that his country is fully standing shoulder to shoulder with Iraq in its war on terror. 

This came as Abadi attended a meeting of the Arab League in its 28th session.

Arab Parliament: Iranian regime threatens Arab's national security

Arab Parliament Speaker Meshaal bin Faham Al-Sulami said that Iranian regime endangers Arab's national security via its backed militias in order to ignite conflicts in the region.

Addressing the 28th Arab Summit, Al-Sulami said Iran has been training armed militias to spark off regional conflicts and kill more Arab people.

Iran stands behind all regional conflicts raging in some Arab states, particularly in Iraq and Syria, he added, pleading for a global support for these countries in combating terrorism.
