Hashd Al-Shaabi Composed of Over 60 Militia Groups

ERBIL — Hashd al-Shaabi Shi'ite, the largest militia group in Iraq, is composed of over 60 brigades and units, each of which is overseen by a faction or a leader and most of them are backed by Iran.

The documents obtained by BasNews show that Hashd al-Shaabi consists of 66 different brigades and units each of which under a name. Among those groups are Badr Organization, Asaib Ahl Haq, Saraya Salam, al-Nujabaa Movement, Saraya Khurasani, Said al-Shuhadaa Brigade, Imam Ali Brigades, Saraya al-Jihad, Ali Akbar Regiment, Jund al-Imam Brigade, Iraqi Hizbollah, and others.

According to the documents, most of the components of Hashd al-Shaabi are backed by Tehran and the Iranian political and religious leaders.

Nouri al-Maliki, the leader of Dawa Party and former Iraqi PM, is also supporting most of the militia groups for his own political interests.

Hashd al-Shaabi, also known as Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) is one of the largest militias in Iraq consisting of over 60 militia groups. It was established in 2014 with a fatwa (jurisdiction) of the grand Shi'ite cleric in Iraq Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani to fight the Islamic State (IS).

The militia has often been reported by Amnesty and Human Rights Watch for committing war crimes in different parts of Iraq. However in late 2016, the Iraqi parliament recognized the militia as a national armed force.

The liberation of Iraq will be great only, if Iran does not gain power.

Iraq needs the US to stay in Iraq and trump(🙂) Iran from gaining a foothold.

True that golfnsr, should have happened in 2010 but many of the iraqi's were clamoring for the usa to leave especially Sadar, usa was viewed as occupiers not liberators, iraq needed wise strong leaders but big M had his thieving agenda dictatorship to get rolling an he sure didn't need usa in iraq to accomplish his goals ,, W was on the way out obama was in , to keep stability and peace they needed military protection similar to germany / japan but they were having none of it, so here the usa is back in Iraq years later helping to boot terrorist thugs out of iraq once again its like the movie ground hog day but in real life ....... we wait

Just another ISIS. That's all they know. Death is more routine than life to the middle east. It is time to vacate the middle east altogether and let it implode. To think of all the billions in monetary support for reconstruction and the trillions the US has spent. All for naught.

Bottom line is Iran wants Iraq and they have all the chess pieces in place to take over, if Iraq's leaders don't get their heads out of their butts soon. If Iran wins the game toss Iraq will become three countries and only the Kurd's will have a chance of survival. Remember Iran is sprinting towards becoming the world domination leader with their Nuclear program. Iran's religious zealot desire to use a nuke on the infidels so they can all see Allah's promise land; because their land sucks and lives suck so bad anyplace is better. Question is who will use them first and who will use them last in this game of nuclear chicken.

Badr Organization... The dude on the far left in the picture with the drink in his hand is the head of the badr organization and is a member of the iraqi parliament and best friend to quasem solemeini the head of the iranian military qud forces. The battle in mosul is not just the worry of getting rid of isis, but who is going to try and control areas that dont rightfully belong to them. Contrary to what abadi says these militias have been committing atrocities against the sunnis ever since maliki took power. Iran sees the culling of the sunnis as a necessity to carry out their grand plan. ;)
