(Not that I don’t LOVE $1.19, but)...isn’t 1184 minus 3 zeros just .84459?

Yup. 😁

1  divided by 1184 =0.000845

Remove the three zeros and you have 0.845

1 divided by 0.845 =$1.18

Sorry, I got kicked out of math. 😂

I thought the wording "Throughout Iraq" was odd.  Why would they add those words?

Or maybe I have my Dinar goggles on.

Also, the prices are pretty similar as to buy/sell in the different locations.

You should try my dinar goggles, when i look through them, I see 100 dinar per $100 USD!!!  Maybe i should lend my gogles to Mr. Abadi?

That wording does have a resounding sense of unity.

I think they were just showing the difference in the price from northern Iraq to southern Iraq...

interesting that the spread has narrowed to .5 dinar/dollar. go back a couple days and it was 10/dollar. in my experience the better the liquidity the narrower the spread, which may or may not have anything to do with these exchange rates on the buy and sell. but it is a change in the pattern of the exchange rate at the street rate. the secondary dealers went from about 50 dinars/dollar to .5 dinars/dollar. If didn't know better, I would be thinking that the multiple currency practice is going to end soon.

right on .. imf compliant  :cigar:

The Official Rate at the CBI is 1184, you add the CBI commissions on auction currency of 6 dinars to reach 1190.  The spread then is derived from this at 2% or 24 dinars making it 1214 to $1 or less to be in compliance.  Based on today's numbers, they are within compliance."
