Iraqi Military Intelligence Directorate announced the killing of an ISIS senior leader as well as an aide of Arab origins, The Baghdad Post reported on Sunday.

A statement released by the directorate said, "An ISIS  commander, Bahaa Jubouri and his aide, Abu Talha, a Palestinian national, were killed in an operation in Mosul's right bank on Sunday".

Since February 19, the Iraqi army, in coallboration with the US-led International Coalition, has launched an offensive code-named 'We are Coming, Nineveh' to liberate the right bank of the city.

Mosul fell to ISIS in June, 2014.

The left bank of the city was utterly liberated from the terror group.

Now, fierce battles are going on in the right bank, the terror group's last stronghold in Iraq.

But hundreds of civilians have been killed in airstrikes that depended on misleading security tip-offs provided by Iranian spies who penetrated the Iraqi security apparatus

Iraqi premier Haider Abadi intends to declare Mosul utterly liberated by April 30th, a source at Abadi's office told The Baghdad Post Wednesday.

The source revealed that only six districts remain under ISIS grip, adding the Old Mosul district would be declared liberated within two days.

The preliminary indicators say all neighborhoods of the city that fell to ISIS in 2014 would be liberated with a week from now.

After liberating the city, all the districts will be combed to safely move food supplies to residents and transfer those injured to hospitals, the source said.

Abadi visited Mosul today to inspect the ongoing 'We Are Coming, Nineveh' military operation that started on February 19 to remove ISIS from the right bank of the city. The offensive is backed by the US-led international coalition's airstrikes.

ISIS terrorists target US, Australian advisers by mustard gas

An Iraqi unit with US and Australian advisers was targeted by mustard gas shot by ISIS terrorists, as reported by CBS News on Wednesday.

Twenty-five Iraqis required treatment but none of the advisers were injured.

Brigadier General Yahya Rasoul said that six soldiers suffered breathing problems from Sunday’s attack and were treated in a field clinic. An investigation was then launched to determine what type of gas was used.

The attack marked the second chemical attack of its kind in several days. It occurred one day after an Iraqi military officer said ISIS militants launched a gas attack in the al-Abar neighborhood in western Mosul.

Two army officers say masks and other equipment have been distributed to forces in case of future gas attacks. They spoke anonymously as they were not authorized to speak to media.

An officer with the counter-terrorism services forces said ISIS fired a rocket loaded with chlorine.

US-backed Iraqi forces are battling ISIS terrorists in the more densely populated western half of Mosul. Iraqi officials say more than half of western Mosul has been retaken.

The Canadian military has deployed around 60 members of the Royal Canadian Air Force’s (CAF) 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron based in Edmonton to the Kurdistan Region, NRT reported on Tuesday.

Members from 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron will relieve their Canadian colleagues from Quebec’s 430 Squadron, who have been in the Kurdistan Region for the last six months.

“We provide air power that integrates with and supports our CAF and coalition partners. The tactical helicopter detachment is a crucial component of this commitment,” Christian Drouin, Commander 1 Canadian Air Division, said.

“430 Squadron has done a tremendous job over the past few months, maintaining a level of excellence that I know 408 Squadron will continue,” Drouin added.

The Squadron members will fly and maintain up to four CH-146 Griffon helicopters, providing tactical transport for Canadian troops and material near Erbil.

The government of Canada deployed CH-146 Griffon helicopters and personnel to Operation IMPACT in May 2016.

Canada has also deployed one CC-150(T) Polaris air-to-air refueling aircraft to the region.

There are nearly 830 Canadian personnel based in Iraq and Kuwait, including dozens of Special Forces soldiers training the Peshmerga forces fighting ISIS militants.

Iraq opens new Tigris bridge escape route for people fleeing Mosul

Iraq opens new Tigris bridge escape route for people fleeing Mosul

Iraqi's army has built a new pontoon bridge over the Tigris river south of Mosul, after flooding had blocked all crossing points, opening an escape route for families fleeing fighting between government forces and ISIS, Reuters reported on Tuesday.

On Friday, the army dismantled makeshift bridges linking the two parts of Mosul due to heavy rain, forcing residents leaving Iraq's second-largest city to use small boats.

The city's permanent bridges have been largely destroyed during a six-month military campaign to seize back Mosul from the Sunni Muslim Islamists, which overran it in 2014.

Long queues formed at the new bridge on Tuesday with families crossing in public buses, trucks and taxis.

Aid shipments also resumed to the Hammam al-Alil camp, southwest of Mosul, the main arrival point for people fleeing the fighting.

Deliveries from Erbil, located some 80 km east in peaceful Iraqi Kurdistan, where aid agencies are based, had stopped due to the flooding.

The terror group of ISIS is killing its own elements infected with Gangrene in the right bank of Mosul, intelligence sources said Wednesday.

The terror group is getting rid of Gangrene-infected elements who are laying at houses that the terror group is using as makeshift hospitals, the sources added.

The ones plagued with this decease are many in the ranks of ISIS terrorists. And the terror group is incapable of providing them with the proper medication, they further noted.

ISIS terrorists are running out of money, so they are not able to provide medication for their terror network members.

The Iraqi forces inflicted huge losses on their side in the right bank of Mosul and they are now besieged. So they are now getting rid of their recruits who are not able to take up arms in the face of the Iraqi forces, the sources explained.

Only 13 Neighborhoods of Mosul Left Under IS Control

Islamic jihadists use hit and run tactics

Basnews English

Only 13 Neighborhoods of Mosul Left Under IS Control
ERBIL— Islamic State (IS) organization now applies hit and run tactics in the battle of Mosul while only 13 neighborhoods are left under militants' authority, said an Iraqi army officer.

Brig. Mohammed Abdali, an officer from the SWAT forces, said among the 13 IS-held neighborhoods west of Mosul is the July 17.

The neighborhood was named Fath [Arabic meaning victory] as it was the first area which fell to Islamic jihadists in 2014, Abdali explained.

Commenting on the developments in the battle to retake Mosul, the officer said in most areas of the right bank of Mosul the Islamic militants use hit and run tactics and "hand over the areas to Iraqi forces."

He added a special security plan will be designed in the following days to protect the recently liberated areas.
