Bond Notes Still Under Design, Zimbabwe

Recommended Posts

Sounds like you can trade these whatever they are for any of the 5 or 6 global currencies when you cash them in. As a complete guess mind you. Cuz if they revalued the Zim currency at an 1-1 on par with the US DOLLAR that would mean that Zimbabwe as a sovereign country would have had to be doing more than Iraq has been doing import/export wise, banking and electronic banking regulations wise, international commerce wise, domestic industrial, precious metals and oilwise, to make the value of their currency on par with the USD.

Explain when in history has a currency that has been demonetized ever been re-monetized?  Exactly, it's never happened.  Zimbabwe is not a currency, nor is it a bond, it is a collectible, so sell them now while you still can.

I bought a 100 Trillion Zim note 4 yrs ago for $4 and now they are going for $79.  I'm doing a whole lot better with my Zim than my Dinar.

Rocky, I bought some of my Dinar in 2004 at 650.00 a million when I was in Baghdad, today it's worth about 820.00. I'm doing alright with my Dinar investment....

I find this of interest not because of the old Zimbabwe Zim notes. But because they are launching  new notes with new amounts that have  USD values towards the end of this month . https://www.newsday.co.zw/2016/10/26/bond-notes-delay-creates-uncertainty/ ....https://www.google.com/amp/s/zimnews.net/zim-bond-note-latest-24-10-2016/amp/.....

If they revalued the Zim currency at an 1-1 on par with the US DOLLAR that would mean that one 100 trillion ZIM note would be worth more than all the money in the world.

For purists, who believe money refers only to currencies such as bank notes, coins, and money deposited in savings or checking accounts, the total is somewhere around $80.9 trillion.

Not likely to happen IMHO...
