Topic filters

How do I filter out the topics I don't want when I push the new content button?

This is what I've found so far.  When I have time and get more information I'll update this if necessary:

Go to your Account, "Your Name" Top Right:

Click on “Manage Followed Content”

On the left hand side, click on “Forums”

On the right hand side, click on the “Icon” to the right of the “Filter by” click on “Select All” then go down the list and deselect the Forums you don’t want to follow.

At the bottom, click on the “Bell” icon to the left of the stop icon.

I chose “Do not send me notifications”.

Exit out of Managed Followed Content.

Go back to your account again, "Your Name" Top Right and click on “Activity”

Select “My Activity Streams”

Click on “Create New Stream”

Create a “Stream Title” (My Forums, My Streams, etc..)

Then go through and choose the options you want to see. 

Click on “Follow Status”

Then select “Content I follow” & “Content posted in areas I follow”

“Content Types” select “Topics”.

Click on “Save” or “Save & Update Results”

It will take you to a view of your activity stream.

On the Top Left, it will show the title of the activity stream and directly underneath it says” Showing topics I am following. “Edit this stream”.

If you don’t like the way it looks click on “Edit this stream” and play around with the settings.

*** Warning *** to the right of the "Bell" icon there is an "x" Icon.  DO NOT click on that to close out; If you do, you will "UN-Follow" the Forums.  I did that and afterwards, I had to go to each individual Forum and select to "Follow" them.  Very time consuming.  I don't know if there is another way around that, but this is an FEI.  For Everyone's Information.

Hi all and GM I'd like to say. It would be nice if we could see who's on line at the bottom of the page like the old site had and on different topic pages as well.

Thanks for the effort.    I am old and don't like change. Well I did not like it when I was young either. Not a big fan of the new forum but it is not mine and I will deal with the change. I tried the PDF and it did get rid of the non interested sub sections. If I could just get it to show only the new threads and not each new post in the same thread I would be less frustrated.

On your custom Activity Stream try changing the "Show me" to "Content Items only"

Show me

• Content items, comments, and reviews
• Content items only
