NoviceInvestor
My question to fellow members is "why the continual hold up? And brick walls.. They say they want this and that and have this and that and they say they are working for the betterment and stability in Iraq and they talk of needing international recognition all of which never amount to anything.. I'm as the name says a novice when it comes to the workings of the Money trail.. But from my laymen's point of view I cannot but think a valued and valuable currency who bring huge opportunities for not only Iraq and its citizens but for globally investors and markets.. Also can they continue on for much longer in this worthless currency limbo?... Thanks in advance
Jaxinjersey
Hi NoviceInvester... I think you're simply looking at this from a Western perspective. Iraq doesn't ever HAVE TO Rv their currency, especially at the whim, insistence, or expectation of any speculative investor. We simply don't matter... and I doubt we are even a blip on their radar anyway. So.... all we can do is hope that they will one day RV for their own reasons, as they feel it pertains to their own economy, and then to the global economy. With that however, I do feel that Adam has always been spot on with his assessment as to what NEEDS to occur with Iraq as an emerging country. But, we all know there's a lot involved with that! Hence... we wait, watch and listen. I'm simply expecting a surprise one day! JMO

And the interests of a few investors is not their problem but as an outsider looking in that I consider that with a viable currency those that govern growth and investments worldwide would be hammering at the door... KristiD
I think it's important to remember that Iraq does want to do the RV. But this will be a HUGE transition for their country. They want to make sure that they are set up so that it goes smoothly and so that the value doesn't start wildly fluctuating after they do it. World economics is soooo multifaceted. I don't think anyone,, not even the best economist in the world, can figure out the full ramifications for a big step like this. Plus, as was just noted, on top of that, this Iraq - and they are argumentative and slow with anything. Many of us believe this RV was slated to go in 2012, but Iraq got cold feet and didn't pull the trigger then. They lost that window of opportunity and I believe they are fully aware of that. So, that said, I think they are much more inclined now to move forward quickly. They are just trying to dot their i's and cross their' t's. They want to feel comfortable that they're setting themselves up for success. And really, so do we. Soooooooo, we wait............
markb57
I think they're doing pretty good considering they're about 12 century's behind the rest of the world.....
