Conspiracy theory or potential truth? Is Saudi Arabia controlling Iraq currency to control oil?

Recommended Posts

I was speaking yesterday with a friend who has a theory and I wanted to check with your opinions.

He believes that the Iraqi dinar value change is being held up by Saudi's who are are controlling it. They're keeping a close thumb on the purchase of the Iraqi oil and buying it on the cheap along with Isis selling it for a greater profit. That it is in their best interest and in the interest of other corrupt controllers to keep Iraqi people in poverty, and put the corruption in country is what is coinciding with this paradigm.

I'm just curious about peoples opinions. Seeing what's going on in Turkey with the invasion is very distressing and I'm just wondering about all the corruption in the country and how they're managing with their neighbors.

Could there be any truth to this?

I'm open. I just heard this and thought wow could Saudi Arabia be messing around causing some the delays?

.

I for one believe there is a lot of truth in it. As I posted in: Turkey Invaded Iraq

Wow Turkey is pissing everyone off these days. First they shoot down a Russian SU-26 then they perform bombing runs against the Kurds? Seems like what they are saying in the above article are true.

This quote from the article is interesting:

"The Turkish strategy seems to be to degrade Iraq’s last functioning and effective government before claiming it has been forced to move into the area to protect themselves from the threat of the Islamic State."

Guess Baghdad's government is really not functioning nor effective. Which seems to be the case. Could it be that; I've been looking at the wrong government all this time?

Does the power really reside with the Kurds?

This article really sheds new light and raises new questions on who is really in control in Iraq?

I'm not of your opinion. I think the price of oil fell due to an incredible surge in fracking technology which flooded the world market with cheap oil. Good for us, but bad for the greedy OPEC nations. I don't feel sorry for any of them, as they have been gouging us Americans for 50 years. Since most of those camel drivers have a 90% oil based economy, it is tanking even the Sauds. Breaks my heart. What goes around comes around.

I agree with Antie. Saudies have their own problems with the price of oil as low as it is. They can't even control their own problems much less play puppeteers of Iraq. Way too many BS stories evolving these days. Not even sure of the Turkey invasion story. They just keep pulling these stories right outta their arses.

The Turks want to control ( dominate) the Kurds, whether in northern Syria, or northern iraq. The Turks hate the Kurds, just like Saddam did. Turkey is playing these games because our incredibly inept president has left a huge leadership void over there and the bad guys are filling it with their own agendas. Mark my words people. We Americans will swallow a bitter pill in the future due to our stupid social science experiment in electing a person with absolutely no concept of what it takes to be a world leader, except, I guess, on climate control. And it ain't looking too good for the next 8 years either.

I think the Saudi's flooded the oil market because they could no longer control the price of oil. They were seeking to drive the price per barrel so low that the shale oil companies went out of business, and cause problems for Russia - who did not want to play ball with OPEC.

They succeeded in driving the prices down but now their reserve cash is looking gloomy. Russia suffered but they did hang on! One big step they accomplished was to get Iraq to join OPEC.

Interesting times ahead. The price of oil has to rebound - question is WHEN? :)

The Kurds are like the Ukrainians - and impressed people with an occupied government. The Kurds or fractionalized into multiple countries. And I know that they're interested in having their own country like the Palestinians. So it's pretty complex. I doubt they have the power because if they did they would unite. I spoke to a Kurd last year online, and he said that there's so much poverty there it's really sad .

I do believe you're correct on many areas. I don't think it eliminates the possibility… However I think that renewable energy's which is a $2.3 trillion market this year alone is what is impacting the present oil. I don't think it's all the fracking per se, but the combination of all the different energy solutions. However we still have manipulation in the middle east which is where the conspiracy question came into play when a friend of mine recounted his opinion.

Saudis have also been finding a lot of the terrorist group so they are getting their karma back for sure.

I don't think the price of oil is going to rebound because I think there's going to be such a surgeon renewables that or it will become more and more obsolete
