LMAO TD has been wrong for years and had said in the past he sold his dinar but then came back and said he stil had a couple of million dinar let because he wasnt sure if his contact was telling the truth or not. This is the most rediculous thing i have heard but why were they  able to sell it through licensed U.S treasury backed dealers and banks? money laundering? prosecution? hahaha

As far as the jokes....I really appreciate you taking this seriously. I'm looking for honest, outside-the-box mentalities on what 'could' happen...good or bad, and some kind of info to support that theory aside of "cuz Adam said so"

My theory: Dinar will eventually even up with a buck, drop the 000s where a 25K note = 25 Dinars = $25 US. Then a possible rise to the $2-$3 where finally a 25k note may get us $75 USD

Just being realistic & not livin' in fantasy land.

The guy is a step below Kap in his negative view on the dinar (although Kap's game has stepped up a bit, as of late).  I think TD lost his boyfriend, got divorced, his dog ran away and it all happened on a rainy day in November. His intel is usually based on a friend of a friend of an uncle of a guy who knows someone that is married to the father of a woman whose husband owns a Kurdish tea-shop in Timbuktu. No wonder the guy is negative. And if there's to be a lop as he states, why even bother to post his opinions on a neutral or negative event. Just walk away TD. With all the negativity towards the 50,000 dinar note rollout, could you imagine what the sitrep would say if they threw a complete LOP on the citizens? The CBI has maintained the peg rate of 1166 because it is good for iraq's economy and the citizens understand and feel comfortable with it. If they begin to feel queezy, they immediately grab onto US dollars on the street. They are not ready for a currency LOP over there. But they ARE ready for a slow revalue of the peg. I realize using the word "slow" will irritate some people, but you must understand iraq's marketplace economy is fragile right now. Confidence is low in the dinar. A rapid change in the exchange rate would freak out the populace. These things require time to soak. The CBI does not want to start a run on the banks. This is just my opinion. I could be completely wrong.

I'll take that bet... sorry to pop your bubble, Ive only registered once. If I get banned, then to h*** with this place... I dont need to come back as some other user name just to get smacked around by a bunch of yahoos that think they know everything because of how looong they've been in this, yet know nothing more than anyone else does. My opinion came AFTER posting a rumor that I was seeking legitimate input on... Not sure where in my original post I asked for ridicule, or speculation as to my motives of being here. Ive been in this 3-4 years, introduced to me by a Iraqi War Vet, and bought my 1st 100k from him. Since then, Ive formed my own opinion and timeline of events to come, based off of news and statements directly from the sandbox. Every now and then, I read articles such as the one I have posted above, with details and legitimate sounding info that makes me scratch my head and ask the question "do I really know what I know about what I knew?

I was just looking for simple affirmation, that is all.

As far as the neg'ers out there...keep 'em coming, I like the color red.

So we wait, and we cheer the good guys in the GOI, and we cheer the Iraqi army in its fight against ISIS. At some point down the road we all hope that this investment will bring a windfall to all of us.

Yes Sir: Time will tell, RV, RI, RD, or Lop. All are possible outcomes. Bottom line, the goal is to build up Iraq's infrastructure for cheap. Get Iraq back onto the international table. If they lop it at any point, I cannot see how they do not collapse their economy. A Lop will make their currency persona non grata. If they cannot give IQD away it will exchange at 2500/1 . Don't get offended folks with what anyone says. I remember how keepemwalkingfunny and I use to viciously get into it. Viciously. Various folks are passionate about certain positions taken on this site. They can and do defend their positions with true grit.

 

Shoot, last week when I interpreted that some " otherwise intelligent folks " were insinuating to flat out saying that what occurred in Paris was the fault of the capitalistic, imperialistic west - the USA first and foremost. I became unglued, pushing the envelope of DV PC limitations. I should apologize to some for my crass word choices. Yet I stand on my premise that the US has not been imperialistic since the late 1950's. We merely got involved in wars between Communism and Capitalism and not for territorial expansion. We learned ourselves from WW II that imperialism in the modern age by one nation over another leads to horrible outcomes at outrageous costs. What is happening in the ME and the world is the clash of opposing cultures. It is one group of people feeling they are superior to another and thereby justify (in this case by their religion) world domination and the rape of humanity for the glory of Allah.  We in the west have fought those wars. We are familiar with their premise, and the signs of their emergence. Since we chose not to stop it in their infancy, we must now battle them to the death in their adolescence. The total evisceration of ISIS is the only way to stop this situation from becoming WW III, and the only lasting way to allow others to learn do not try such a thing again.
