they wont... looks like they are trying to keep the big bills.... hopefully the 25k bills count also... OR at least until AFTER we cash in... then they can do whatever they want for all I care...

well let's hope they don't recall the 25,000 notes.  I don't really know why they would since they're sill 1/2 the value of the new 50,000 note.  Seems to me like they'd be more likely to withdraw the 100 and 500 notes.

 

According to Brietling's audio on Thursday, the issuance of these new 50,000 notes tell us that Iraq plans to do a float rather than peg the dinar to a rate like 1 to 1.  if Brietling is right, we can only hope that they will start that float with a small jump, maybe 10 cents or hopefully more, first.

 

I guess the first thing to do is wait and see if this is real news from the CBI, or just something that was unofficially put out there and has no merit.  Guess we'll likely know in a few days.....

They have talked about putting out 50,000 and 100,000 dinar notes for some time now. The 25,000 dinar note represents around $25 dollars. Therefore the new bills would represent $50 and $100 dollars respectively. I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner. Many items cost 50-100 dollars in iraq, and it would cut down the volume of 25,000 dinar notes needed for business purposes. I don't see anything about this that would point to an RV or a LOP. It just makes doing business easier in the marketplace, in my opinion.
