Obama on "60 Minutes"

Recommended Posts

I don't know if you caught it but Steve Kroft grilled Obama pretty well on 60 Minutes in regards to the U.S. handling of ISIS.   IMO, Obama pulled out of Iraq WAY TOO EARLY which left a vacuum for ISIS to fill and now, he refuses to do anything more to help!  UGH!!

Kroft also nailed Obama on Putin taking charge and challenging Obama's leadership.

Kroft, "Did you know that Putin was going to do this?" (ie. go into Syria and Iraq)

Obama, "We knew it, we have pretty good intelligence, you know." DOUBLE UGH!

Obama makes startling admissions in 60 Minutes interview

By Thomas Lifson

President Obama was visibly annoyed to face persistent questions from CBS’s Steve Kroft in a 60 Minutes interview the likes of which the president has not had to endure.  At one point, Kroft accused Obama of “filibustering” – a common tactic of his, but one which he has never, to my recollection, been taken to task about.

The two most notable moments are excerpted below from the CBS transcript.  Faced with questioning over the challenge from Vladimir Putin and the question of who has the leadership, Obama reverted to a cringe-worthy proclamation that his leadership on climate change and the Iran nuclear sellout is what really counts.

In part two of the interview, he made three notable declarations on Hillarious Clinton’s email scandal.  One, that it didn’t constitute a national security threat, despite the fact that ongoing FBI investigations have yet to reach their conclusions.  Two, that Mrs. Clinton made a “mistake” in her handling of emails.  Three,  that questions about the matter are “legitimate.”

I get the impression that the president was somewhat rattled to face the sort of serious questions that other politicians routinely have to field.  The question that must be bothering him this morning is whether or not other interviewers will take the hint from Kroft and treat his year-plus in office as the chance to make up for previous journalistic defaults.

I am sure Ellen, Jimmy Fallon, and GloZell will be willing to give him more airtime.

Steve Kroft: He's challenging your leadership, Mr. President. He's challenging your leadership—

President Barack Obama: Well Steve, I got to tell you, if you think that running your economy into the ground and having to send troops in in order to prop up your only ally is leadership, then we've got a different definition of leadership. My definition of leadership would be leading on climate change, an international accord that potentially we'll get in Paris. My definition of leadership is mobilizing the entire world community to make sure that Iran doesn't get a nuclear weapon. And with respect to the Middle East, we've got a 60-country coalition that isn't suddenly lining up around Russia's strategy. To the contrary, they are arguing that, in fact, that strategy will not work.

On the Hillarious Clinton email scandal:

Steve Kroft: Did you know about Hillarious Clinton's use of private email server--

President Barack Obama: No.

Steve Kroft: --while she was Secretary of State?

President Barack Obama: No.

Steve Kroft: Do you think it posed a national security problem?

President Barack Obama: I don't think it posed a national security problem. I think that it was a mistake that she has acknowledged and-- you know, as a general proposition, when we're in these offices, we have to be more sensitive and stay as far away from the line as possible when it comes to how we handle information, how we handle our own personal data. And, you know, she made a mistake. She has acknowledged it. I do think that the way it's been ginned-up is in part because of-- in part-- because of politics. And I think she'd be the first to acknowledge that maybe she could have handled the original decision better and the disclosures more quickly. But--

Steve Kroft: What was your reaction when you found out about it?

President Barack Obama: This is one of those issues that I think is legitimate, but the fact that for the last three months this is all that's been spoken about is an indication that we're in presidential political season.

Steve Kroft: Do you agree with what President Clinton has said and Secretary Clinton has said, that this is not-- not that big a deal. Do you agree with that?

President Barack Obama: Well, I'm not going to comment on--

Steve Kroft: You think it's not that big a deal--

President Barack Obama: What I think is that it is important for her to answer these questions to the satisfaction of the American public. And they can make their own judgment. I can tell you that this is not a situation in which America's national security was endangered.

Dropping supplies to extremist fighting against Assad is Stupid. America did the exact same thing in Afghanistan which gave birth to terrorist taking over after Russia departed. This terrorist group went on to commit the 9/11 attacks!

Apparently they have learned ZERO from history!

come on brother, please don't drink that kool-aid.  anybody who has done their own research know 9/11 wasn't perpetrated by foreign terrorist.  building 7, the third building to collapse that day at near freefall speed some 8 hours after the twin towers, was never hit by a plane but its demolition helped a lot of wealthy men.  47 stories tall and all 4 corners collapsed in unison while its collapse was announced 20+ minutes before it actually happened.

sorry but i can't sit by and watch that kind of kool-aid drank just because foxnews said it was so....

nope but i did take in their personal testimonies into my research.  amazingly their accounts did no make it into the official reports.  fire department workers repeated spoke of explosions going off in succession all the way down the buildings, "it was like what you see in a controlled demolition. boom boom boom boom boom."

but of course that information was left out of the reports.  'firefighters for 911 truth' came forth as a voice for the firefighters, but sadly most would prefer fox and cnn for truth.

"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come." John 16:13

the more we stop leaning on the arm of flesh for guidance, protection and deliverance, the easier it becomes to hear Truth speaking to us.  once we accept Jesus' warning that the heart of men is a house of evil, we will stop deifying republican and democratic leaders alike while looking to God life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. ""For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders."

Well, Obama has learned Zero, anyway.  But that's ok. He already thinks he knows it all and doesn't need to learn anything more.

I fear we will never know the real truth,....but I do know.....that what we now know is not the truth

(hey that was kinda poignant!)

Poignant and sad. Really, really sad.

these types of news interviews are the ones that everyone casually forgot about because they were no longer being carried by mainstream media.  this stuff was looking us right dead in the face but most of us chose the bush/cheney blue pill so that we didn't have to deal with the implications of truth.

firefighters at ground zero telling the world about multiple explosions that even took out the lobby where they were staged to head upstairs and battle the blazes.  but our nation destroyed the credibility of their testimony because they after all are just mere low educated firefighters.  instead we turned our attention to the attestation of the government scientific entities.....for truly they know best, right.
