Adam Montana
Good morning everyone! If you missed my chat last week, please take a minute to read this: http://goo.gl/7dbDJh And then place a "pledge" by voting here: http://goo.gl/fMuQRb In a nutshell - there was a Tropical Storm recently that wiped out half of a country, and as a group I believe we can help out. So far we only have $9245 pledged - I believe we will be able to squeeze another $5000 out of some silent members once we have an official plan, but we need to see another $5000 in pre-pledged donations before we can really do anything significant. Thank in advance for participating on that one. So, about this Iraqi Dinar! Man, oh, man... are things moving slowwwwww right now. My last 4 or more updates have been really hard to compose, because I can almost just re- post last week's update verbatim We do have some fun topics to hit on! For example, this sensational headline posted by our very own Thugsy: Warning of an imminent collapse of the Iraqi dinar Read it here: http://goo.gl/r0jdr1 (Be sure to check the responses - and then realize that our members here are probably 1000X smarter than the "economists" that wrote that ridiculous article!) And Master Yota posted a pretty cool opinion piece, stating WE ARE WITNESSING A ONCE IN A LIFETIME EVENT - check that out here: http://goo.gl/iG6aos And even as slow as things feel right now, you need look no further than this thread: http://goo.gl/3Isruw to understand that Abadi IS getting stuff done, and we are DEFINITELY on the right track. I'll give that two thumbs up, even though we are still waiting on the HCL. I do have some interesting tidbits that I'm investigating, but nothing solid enough to let you get excited about, so I'll hold back on that info until later this week or next if it pans out. Here's the weekly Q's for now! Hello Adam,Long time no hear, I have been away most of the summer and now I want to pick your brain to try to catch up. I have several questions that I hope you can answer.. Oh hell I know you can answer these.... LOLThe HCL: Any chance of that being resolved before Dec.?Back in 2009 I filled out your form like others to be contacted by text when the RV happens. It has been so long now, do you believe that I should have to fill out a new one?How much is the depressed price of oil keeping the RV from happening?Lastly, how confident do you feel that an RV may happen before the end of the year? Thanks for helping us hang in there.Dave AKA, Seabee HCL - yes, I do have high hopes for pre-December! Contact form - as long as your info (phone number email etc) has not changed, no need to do another one. Provided the HCL goes through, I am optimistic. On a scale of 1-10: Cake. Adam, There's much discussion about an Anti-Money Laundering Law with a looming deadline and a threat of Iraq being black listed. In so far as Iraq already has such a law why the need for a new one? The existing law can be found on the CBI website,in English, and appropriately called the "Anti-Money Laundering law" I've read it..it seems fairly comprehensive to me.. What am I missing? I don't think you're missing anything - Iraq won't be black-listed, that's just a bit of huffing and puffing. Everything will turn out fine for them on this. Adam....long time viewer...first time caller .... What is your take on who is going to be in the superbowl this year? What is your take on Mr. Trump? I remember back in the day there was a rumor he had a ton of dinar.... Oh yea and about that "dinar" thing.... I am worried about everything Abadi is doing to be undone and being called unconstitutional. Your thoughts? Superbowl - my current picks are Packers, Seahawks, Colts, Patriots. My take on Trump - this is a tough one. Ben Carson is a very smart person, but he does not have political or even tough business experience. Trump does. There are a lot of Republican candidates that *could* do a great job as President, but I don't think anyone other than Trump can beat Hillarious. With that said, I do like the idea of having a President who isn't a career politician. I believe Trump is a very smart businessperson, and while I may not agree with him on everything, I DEFINITELY agree with him more than Hillarious or Bernie! And about Abadi - no way. I wouldn't worry about that for a minute. Thanks, Adam, for your patience and perserverence as we asked the same questions over and over, but perhaps this might be a new one:I read recently that the Middle East with all its unrest and wars may be over shadowed by...Climate Change, and if they don't get their acts together and start cooperating then the climate may put them all out of business. The region is suffering from the worst droughtIn memory. Crops are vanishing as is the water supply. Watching the temperatures (at one point the heat index was approaching 165)over there makes me love our state and our 100 degree summers.Any comment? That's a fair question but similar to my response to SnowGlobe's question - I don't see that situation as a game changer. It's unfortunate and troublesome, but not insurmountable. Hopefully I word everything correctly so I don't seem to much like a mumbling idiot.Like everyone else, with conflicting stories CBI saying they have enough reserves to cover 6 months of imports, plus salaries for xyz number of years. Then one great Iraqi economist stating a imminent threat to the collaspe of the IQD due to lower reserves, plus ISIS war, low PPB of oil. Should I hold off papering the walls of my outhouse with my IQD or what? Also, going back to the note count. CBI reports showed it went down from ( I forget ) 27-32 billion notes, down to 9 billion, then 4 billion. With a stated goal to get the count down to 1 billion physical notes. Once they hit the 4 billion mark, or there abouts, is when they retired the 50 IQD note. Further lowering the note count. I read somewhere NINA or Alsumaria news that the CBI once they RV'd would then retire other notes either just before or at the same time they introduced the new higher notes. Now a lot of us, a ton of us have the 25k note. If the CBI starts retiring more notes once it RV's at a dime or above, then kept on a market float up, which notes would they eliminate first from 25k downward? From the 100 IQD upwards? How long of a window would we have to trade them in for other safer denoms? Does such a scenario sound plausible to you or your sources and why? Good questions sir! I believe they will start with the 25k and go down, and we should have a window of AT LEAST 3 months, and probably a max of 2 years. Don't start wallpapering yet. Or if you do, make sure you don't use glue that will damage your notes. Adam,I've been doing alot of thinking on the HCL. Just throwing this out there. Have you considered that they may not plan to distributed oil wealth to the individual citizens. Since America doesn't divy out natural gas, oil profits, or mineral procedes to us, but uses that money to fund the government institutions either federal or state that they may do the same by province. I guess what I'm trying to say is that even though the HCL is a big item, that the investment law, maybe the bigger ticket item because the budget should already consider the regions contributions and proceeds? Also, on the financial statements of the CBI, it's states that for liabilities, they must hold the liability at "face value" of the currency? Wondering what your opinion is on these things? We always talk about snippets of news articles, but don't get into the weeds of things with solid questions even if it isn't relevant. Maybe you do in VIP, if so my bad. In my opinion you maybe correct in the .10 relm. How do you feel about this perfect storm of Oct 1st?Thanks You are correct, we do get much more detailed in VIP. I also like your statement about a "Perfect Storm". If you are correct on the October 1 date, I will be issuing a complimentary VIP membership to you! Regarding the "investment law", I understand where you are coming from - but we have to keep in mind that Iraq, the CBI, the GOI, etc - they can make changes to these "rules" as they see fit, with little or no warning to the world or even the person in the cubicle next to them. That's the magic of being sovereign with a fiat currency and a huge stash of black gold. Did you ever hear about the "Golden Rule"? Someone help me out here. Personally, I've always thought $1.00. You won't see me complaining! ---------------------------------------------------- Ok friends, that's it for now - PLEASE click those links at the top of this post and consider chipping in as much or as little as you can. I've got work to do on my end to get the logistics sorted, so I will chat with you later. GO RV!!!!!!

Francie26
Question: Anyone? In 2010, I bought dinars and made a personal commitment to ride this down, to stay until I know where it goes, and since then I have believed fairly consistently that I will make a reasonable amount, if not a lot, of money on it. I'm not hopeless yet, but that's no thanks to Obama. I just happen to be a sunny-side-up woman, and things are always going to get better tomorrow, even while the trajectory of my life has gone downhill fairly regularly through the years. But given my propensity to always see things on the bright side, I tend to miss signs telling me to make other plans. I have gone through so much else while keeping my dinars, often when I could have used the money for other things, but still . . . I hung on. So my question is: What is your best prognosis regarding the future of the Iraqi dinar? Are the rest of you holding onto it mostly for the Dinarvets entertainment value? (Already a significant return on my money. haha). Or is there still real hope for a huge return on our dinar? Right now, I agree with Adam, that it could happen any day, that we are simply waiting for a simple change made by the Iraqi government, and then it will all fall into place. But other times, particularly since I am not a professional money investor, I get worried more than someone who has more years left in their life than I do, or perhaps just more experience in this "money thing" than I have, which until I got into dinars, was zero, zilch, nada, the Big Naught. So "hope-wise" how does it look right now? What are your gut feelings about the dinar? Please don't hesitate to answer. For me, truth goes a long way. Thanks in advance to all of you, especially Adam, who has been patient and long-suffering with me upon occasion for a long time now. lol

Adam Montana
Adam, Maybe I missed something? Golden rule as in do unto others...or is there a golden dinar rule, I haven't caught? DANGIT! I really expected the first response or two to nail this one, but maybe you're the first person to actually read my whole post. The Golden Rule is simple, and those of you who pay attention will prosper. Those that have the Gold make the Rules! Write that down.
olivesman
I may be mistaken, (it has happened) but don't some states share the wealth from their natural resources? Texas? Alaska?Perhaps, at least only in the form of no state income tax...(per: roger01's question) And I REALLY could stand for this to happen between October 1st and the end of December! The sooner the better. Edited September 16, 2015 by olivesman

So, yes, we are are all holding that amount and still hoping that we made a good decision..... but if not, well it's been a fun ride and we aren't out a large sum. paperboy
olivesman - I think Alaska does, but not Texas. If you're lucky enough to own mineral interests, you definitely get a share.

paperboy
Snowglobe - here in Texas, we have personal ownership of the minerals. If you purchase a piece of property and the mineral rights are conveyed to you, and a well is drilled and producing that includes your minerals, then you are paid a royalty payment monthly (if the well is producing) by the oil company that is operating the well. It isn't connected to the State of Texas at all. It's an ownership thing. If you sell that property (the land), you can retain the minerals to the land and continue to receive any payments due. Or you can convey the minerals with the land. Or any combination of that (keep half of minerals, sell half with the property, etc). Basically, Texas recognizes individual ownership of the minerals beneath your land. And the ownership passes from person to person with a deed, just like real estate. So, that's why my comment above: " if you're lucky enough to own minerals". It's possible for a person to purchase a piece of land and receive none of the minerals with their deed. The previous owner can retain 100% of the minerals if they so choose, and that seems to be the direction it is moving in Texas. People that were once unaware of the value of their mineral rights would convey them to a new owner along with the actual land (on the deed). Not so much any longer. They tend to hold on to the mineral rights and just sell the land. Your brother-in-law is probably receiving a monthly check from the oil company that is operating the oil/gas well. His check wouldn't come from the State of Texas.

MyLadiesDaddy
I'm not sure where we are at with this, Adam, but I just got this reply in my email and thought I would bring it here. It is the lowest price so far, though some charges may not be included I suspect that this will still be the lowest cost. The charges were based on the container leaving from my personal address, which I removed for obvious reasons. I hope this helps you, Sir.
