Edit of new post

I posted a reply at 2:35 pm to a thread I started (NOTICE TO TRAITORS) in the 2nd Amendment forum, saw a few errors and ommissions, hit edit and made corrections and additions, and entered them and got a notice that I "do not have permission to edit this post"!  I seemed to have no choice except to back arrow out, and took the advice to copy the new content before doing so.  When I hit the back arrow the tread was displayed without any sign of my earlier (2:35) post, so I went to the reply form at the bottom of the thread, pasted my copied, edited post onto the form, and hit "post" at 2:52 pm.  I then promptly discovered that my early (and uncorrected) 2:35 post, as well as my emended 2:52 pm post, were each pinned to the thread, and I could find no way to delete the earlier (2:35 pm) post.  Please delete that earlier post or tell me how to do so, in either case leaving the 2:52 pm post intact.

I have edited the thread to show your second post 2:52 PM as you requested. I would also request that you refrain from personal attacks as they are against forum rules.

Were you talking to me?  Or to JJ, who asserted I was not an American, never served in the military, and called me a TRAITOR.  The rest of his original reply post to me ranged from muddled to incoherent - only his invective lies about me are clear.

 

My original, and most of my second. posts expressed my approbation only for public political poseurs of extremely modest talent and knowledge and, in my view, a total lack of honestiy and courage.  Their choice to become public political figures makes them fair game for virtually all invective one might wish to hurl at them, with the caveats that (1) knowingly making a false claim of criminal behavior as a matter of fact is proscribed; and, (2) excessive ranting without facts or logic, hurts one's own credibility more that it harms the intended target.  No question I spoke very harshly of the political scum, but I believe it well deserved, if not necessarily well put enough to persuade skeptics, or insure that I did not run afoul of criteria #2.

 

My only comment to JJ about his responsive attack on me personally, was: "So take your mindless, self-rightous jingoism and put it where the sun don't shine!"  Admittedly not a very adult response, but hardly a personal attack.  I was addressing only his intemperate and inaccurate words which were clearly a personal attack on me.  While his scurilously inaccurate personal attack on me deserves a slap on his face with my dueling glove, I have refrained from personal attacks on him out of great respect for this fine forum.  I shall, however, continue to attack without reservation the WORDS of the comments of others with whom I strongly disagree.  I save my personal attacks for the hypocritical, incompetent and corrupt public figures infesting our governments.

 

So Mom, if I offended you, I hereby sincerely appologize.  I know the rules, did not intend to break them (which took a lot of effort), and I will take care in the future to shoot only at member's words and not their beings (unless, of course, they are the voluntary targets called politicians).  Good?  Note I didn't even assert that "he started it."  LOL
